The Supernova quirks were in the Clan PTS pdf!

For some reason PGI regards the -B and -A variants as superior to the -1 and -3 Variants. Noticeably absent are the -C and the Boiler, which makes sense as they should be superior, but honestly I would have expected this level of quirks on at least the -C, and maybe even some on the Boiler... with slightly stronger quirks on the variants here, but that's just me. Overall they are weaker than the Highlander IIC.

Any thoughts?

Not enough to make up for bad profile, bad variants, poor mount locations, and poor max engine rating.

Running 6 cERLLas on the SNV-1 won't be viable at all it looks like, so no. It's not enough. :P

Wow, that's some first class investigative reporting. Cats outta the bag now sort-of.
Quirks are quite a bit lower than I thought they would be for something that is already somewhat of a self limited chassis.
I'm going to categorize it as a shade of HighlanderIIC

SuperNova is a supporter of the new skill tree lol.

As the Skill Tree effects all mechs more or less equally, the skill tree wouldn't make a difference.

Wow. So it's lasers essentially have to carry themselves, no offensive quirks, besides that single duration quirk?

I was seriously hoping for some heat generation quirks. Make it so that it could fire 3 cERLLas at once without burning itself up.

Yeah I thought 5 or 10% heat gen would have been nice.

Yah. Could have quirked it so it could run kind of like a 6xLL Stalker at least. But with no LL options, and the ridiculous heat of Clan Large lasers... I don't see how this thing is going to work. The only builds I can think of that wouldn't explode just on principle are ones that mix LPLs, ERLLs, and ERPPC liberally, and that's still going to be a furnace.

Even with 15% heat reduction builds like that would be a furnace.

Ewww i don't think that will be enough .... Other than the boiler. Its going to be good even without quirks. When i say good i mean playable :)

Even with ll quirks the the stk4n was good because the weapons are on its head. The subpar nova weapons at its hips.

If these are the real quirks i would ask for my money back. Unless your goal was to get the boiler Posted Image

wasn't viable in TT...so why in the heck should it have been viable to do here?

I'm think this mech will be better than the Highlander IIC - with or without quirks.


C & Hero are likely the best variants. C might even be able to pull off a 325 STD engine and still have a lot of firepower (Max Armor with Endo & Ferro w/ 325 STD leaves 40 tons free before shaving any armor).

Funny enough 6x CERLLAS Dire Wolves were probably one of the major reasons that CERLLAS beam durations were originally nerfed.

Honestly... can we just skip the Supernova... do a Flea with it, and skip to the Assassin, instead?

Seriously.... I don't think I've seen one person actually excited for this robot. I mean I liked it in MW3 and Mektek because it looked kind of cool (sorry Alex, but your truer to TT choice of proportions for MWO... means it really doesn't rustle my jimmies, here).... but in neither game did anyone run it remotely like stock..... heck I think I had 6 UAC5s in MW3..... and IS LLs in Mektek.
