Other than that, it's about as close right now, as it's ever been. cERPPC maybe the bare exception.
You've played 13 games and only managed to do 3 KMDDs, 6 kills and 44 deaths.
That is pretty much the bottom of the barrel performance wise. Not being rude but you clearly don't understand how the game is played at a higher level than T5.
Please don't comment on "balanced". You have no idea.

Have a read of THIS THREAD
I killed killed more Clan Mechs / More KMDD per match playing Inner Sphere Mechs for 3 weeks... Than I did as Clan in 6 weeks.
So yeah I tried it, for 3 straight weeks and I had no issue what so ever.
I suggest you join a unit, learn how to play - then come back and comment on balance in 6 months. As opposed the currently where you've played 13 games in 4 months and clearly have NFI what you're on about with a KDR of what - 0.01?

Ah yes, the IS XL question.
I think quite a bit of this is simply because of how bad the standard engine is as an alternative.
I've seen a couple of proposals, my favorite is to have it come with an armor/structure buff (say, 30%, perhaps higher) to center/side torsos. The sheer utter tankiness will do well to offset the maneuverability of the XL.

How do you balance ******** builds?
How do you balance zero aggression?
How do you balance idiocy?
Balance, why the f. people bring that up as if it meant anything in 99,9% of stomps?

Which means I've multipule dropdecks built with 3025 mech. Standard engines, single heatsinks, no ams or pulse weaponry or endosteel, etc.. I've had plenty of solo drops where I pretend I'm a mercenary trying to play rearguard an protect the dropzone from being overrun, lotsa of oppoutunity for heroic actions, and great training for trying to play less aggressive. (Sadly, they don't really work with my unit, so I only really use em solo dropping.)
And that considered, I'd never vote for stock mechs in CW. They're just not built for the right system. It takes plenty of work to make an optimized 3025 mech shine. And most of that is by going ballistic or missile heavy. So, those stock mechs who do bring ballistics or missiles, as mentioned, don't have the ammo to keep it up.
Take from someone who likes 3025 tech enough to have given it a solid go. Stock mechs are a bad plan on a real game mode. If people wanna try it, we have private lobbies.

Why would he? Probably brings a mixed bag of mechs - You know... SRM/AC20 brawlers to Polar/Frozen.
Standard T5/T4 user stuff. One only suffers what they put themselves through.
That is NO WAY a KDR should be that low of anyone that is even semi competent.
Clearly, this player isn't and would rather sook and ask for "stock" builds. Probably under the belief it will make it "easier" or more "balanced" which couldn't

It doesn't matter cause I'm predicting now that when the maurader iic comes out for cbills it will break the game. I'm calling it here first, kodiak spam 2.0 only this time there is no extraneous population to bleed off. What little people who still stick around to play IS will be crushed as you see teams dropping 8-12 of these mechs round one. With the amount of hard points and the lack of a need to torso Twist that mech it will crush the casuals.

The Rauder IIC will be the same as KDK3Gate.

This mode is frankly schizophrenic in the way PGI presents it. The whole thing is still represented as being the "immersive" loretard attactive aspect of the game as represented by the whole "fight the clans and defend the inner sphere" aspect, yet the actual game mechanisms are all about top level play by top level FPS players; of which the actual game play has NOTHING to do with "lore" or immersion that get the loretards wanting to play in the first place.
I've said it before, and I shall do so again: "this is really a stupid way to set up a game PGI...all it does is equally disappoint the loretards who get their asses handed to them constantly as well as pissing off the FPS crowd who just want to fight and not be limited by "lore".
So, as to your poll: If you are defining "lore" herein as "should CW be all about TT rules" or "should CW be the exclusive domain of stock mechs" then the answer is "no". Because to me that is only tangentially related to the "lore". There is far more to lore than just stock loadouts. If you were to say, "should CW have some immersive aspects related to the Battletech universe" then I would say yes.

Sure, it takes some basic sense to build a viable mech, but you can pretty much make something respectable (if not competitive) for most chassis, if not certain variants.
Limiting builds to stock would mean only a tiny fraction of those would be good enough to take, and even less diversity in what people take. It certainly won't level the playing field.

I would worry about the timeline advancement.
There is just so much potential there for the balance to go sideways for both IS and Clans.
I plan to bring popcorn.

If factions had much more depth to them than just, "Pick this faction and stick with it" I'd play more often.
