Title says it all. Full refund of CBILL and XP on respec.
  • Encourages use of premium time (benefit to game of regular payments)
  • Removes major problem for people who want to tinker with skill tree system.

Not a bad idea though I think simply having premium active would be enough without actually having to have 30+ days active.

How about zero respec cost for a mech I have already paid for and grinded out?

because people would just wait for free premium from a event.
The game does need to make money, and 1 month premium is a purchase (or old players burning banked time)

I don't know if that would qualify as a respec. Any mech you mastered will have to be remastered. that's why the XP, GXP and c-bills spent on skills and modules will be returned so you can replace as much as you can.

I just wont bother to master my mech if they decide to keep the respec fee. I play for fun, not for respec fee, just let those who want to be competitive bother with it

People support game financially because they like game.

Respec for $ which may be occasionally forced upon some people as game changes is not called: "I support game I love."
It is generally called: "pay 2 win"

Recent rating: "Mostly positive" changing into "Mixed" is going to be big problem.
And moment MWO gets this tag on steam or around internet, there is not going to be influx of new players.

How about you ask your local garage to change your new cars oil, at its 25km check for free, cause you already paid for the oil that came with it, right? See how that goes over... ;)

I've been seeing people say "encourage" a lot lately. Introducing a new barrier around mech customization is not "encouragement". If anything it is "coercion".

There is already a perfectly good cbill sink in the game in the form of buying additional mechs.

They have to make money, and a regular cashflow through premium would mean more stability and a better game. You don't HAVE to buy premium time.... many longer term players sit on 80+ mechs and years of banked time anyhow.

From my perspective premium time isn't good enough, I think they should also add extra things like:
  • Free use of any colour / Decal (but they revert to base colours when PT runs out)
  • Full use of drop decks
  • +25% cbills for sales
Basically whilst you have premium running you can mess about with mechs/strategies a lot more (which is half the fun of the game).
