Many people have expressed their issues with the ptr trees, for any number of their own reasons. I feel like I need to weigh in.
First off, I like lights and mediums. That is my focus and what I want to thrive and prosper.
Of the problems that have popped up to me, one of them is the defensive tree. I realistically cannot see a reason to not take it; on any mech. You might lose some viability on heavier mechs, I haven't look that far, but I see it being an essential tree to get for anything 65 tons and lower.
Now, while theory crafting with this in mind, I compared two Locusts to each other. They be identical save one takes sensors, and one takes defense. What really alarmed me was that the defense tree was only 17 nodes while the sensors were 27. I could be wrong, but I don't foresee many pilots taking sensor nodes at all when it drops live, it just won't be needed that much. So what really bugs me is that one tree that almost everyone will take costs less than a tree that almost no one will even if it theoretically is more 'beneficial' to team play. Yes, you can only take so many nodes, yada yada; the point is that the trees are going to be "boated", just like the mechs themselves.
Am I making sense? I just have concerns over what they feel is a priority and what actually is.
Thoughts?

I agree that the defenciv tree is just to good to not at least spend some points there if not all.
As for Sensors...I mostly take a few points there. Its not a useless tree IMO but I rarely spend points on the "upper chassis" tree.
