Here we go again, another, "I wanna new map no matter what," topic.

So you want another map with more problems like these? That's not all the map problems currently either, there are also the bad Map & Mode combinations.

Hell, i'm still waiting on the Alpine Peaks removal / fix / rework that they promised last year.

It was done, called Polar Highlands and it is popular given the vote results.
Then a large enough portion of the community complained about Alpine's removal and PGI kept it in as is with some changes to Mode locations that mostly work except Domination.

Urban map like Big City in MW4...with skyscrapers much taller than you can see over and a nice block to block structure

and, randomly generated maps

Even better: Try MW:LL the city scape maps are close quarters with really nice detail. It saddens me to think we can't have a map like this.

Below is an actual capture objective. Not some generic mining drill extractor. Its an actual War Academy with a mechbay in the back of it, high walls with medium laser turrets.

This is what the rest of the cityscape looks like. Close quarters with really good details.

What PGI should do is contact these people and share resources like they do with HBS. If they are comparable. This is a game made in 2009 and still stands up well to MWO. We need more immersive maps like this.

Maybe it's a typo for COLLADA. But it stuck with me, and I've seen it in a few places. Maybe it's intentional, as it's collada specifically for collision, so you just call your collision mesh "collida" for short. I rather like the term. =3

A city map could use randomised with pre-constructed block. You can learn them in the long run but with enough block you're never sure which one you are looking at until you went through it.

hehe yes. Most likely with either a huge open ground in the middle which you have to cross or something huge around which the 2 teams can circle.

Or they will make one open area without cover surrounded by buildings. Area size being a little bigger then the Domination circle, they then proceed to put domination circle at center. Done.
Name: Crater

I honestly want Alpine Peaks to be reworked because the Domination mode is horrible one sided match.

If they move MWO and all its assets over to the new engine they're making MW5 on then I think it'll be worth it. But only if. I would just rather they come out and make a statement on it.

joke is, while old frozen city and forest were left in the dust, tryhards managed to keep alpine in rotation, where it is usually voted by trolls in conjunction with domination. Really dig the rest of the reworks, though, even Terra Therma. I really like Terra now but I miss Frozen City. q.q

In that case using the name of file format for games mesh content to specifically refer to collision meshes/colliders/physics proxy/ etc would be a little confusing. It would be like starting to call them FBXs or in the case of CE3, CGFs.

What puzzles me is that in a 20 year old game, there's options to have reverse cameras, missile cameras, map zoom and being able to move while JJing etc.

In this game, it's still in the phase to add details to maps. In the heat of the battle, I honestly don't get time to appreciate any nice eye candy. As long as the graphics dev is completely separate to the gameplay dev (which it should be), then I am all for it. I do remember I had to buy a new graphics card just because of these map revamps though :(
