they already said they aer working on a new sale model months ago..

But, i still say its cheaper this way.. My IS account is worth over 1 billion of grinding.. My clan account is worth about 200m of grinding.. My IS account has about double the mechs i actually play than my clan account, at over 5X the cost..

why is it 5X the cost? because half the mechs i bought i planed on using under this new one mech system.. By summer my clan account should have 10 mechs ready for FW.. My IS account will have about 15..

My clan account is a year old..

my IS account is 4 years old..

my clan account has around 1k matches..

my IS account has close to 7k matches

seeing the trend? nearly the same amount of mechs i play and use.. for far less grind, and far less money..

But i agree, buying mech packs, or premium will be soemthing people will want to do. for grinders buying a year of premium will help them get mechs.. for more casual people, buying a mech pack, and saving 30-40m, and using that money to level said mechs will be something people will want to do.

FTP grinders will grind lots less.. Just think about the costs of not buying 2 mechs, and not grinding 40k+ XP on a mech all they are going to do is sell equals less cost and grind over all

I think all of the complaining would go away if people still had the xp and stats on mechs they have today, and PGI simply added more levels and options on to the stat tree. No one can complain that they can now do more with their mech, its just about getting locked out from what they already have earned in game.

This so much this. Because the current system takes away what you have previously earned and locks your previous skills behind a nasty c bill pay wall.

That's their goal, but it will backfire.

The whales will need C-Bills to master their Mechs, and will not buy new Mechs if they still have some to master. For the time it takes people to re-establish the Mechs that they already had mastered, I imagine PGI will sell a LOT less Mech Packs.

Just to give some idea of scale - it will take casual whales (like me) years of grinding at only a few matches a week before we are in a position to want to buy mech packs again - regardless of whether you get 1, 3,or 5 mechs in the pack and regardless of the $ cost.

$ for mechs is good
$ for c-bills is bad

And they can't grind C-bills very easily for the NEXT set of mechpacks. This is PGI's plan here. Sell MC, sell Mechpacks. Make you spend real money on this game. We need to make a stand against them, remember that we, united, must resist this unless and until we see the C-bill cost eliminated completely from the skill tree.

The easy solution on cost is to make every mech owned at new skill tree launch free to master. All you have to do is burn your EXP.

After that, any new mech you purchase is under the effect of the new cost rules.

For the hundredth time, modules can be infinitely swapped for free. The new system costs MORE in the long run.

Iam too lazy to swap modules,
maybe i could have buyed more mechs by swapping,
but then i needed to swap even more.

For me, my mechs are all mastered (xp+money wise = "skilltree" + modules),
if i would have swapped modules i would got (maybe) double the mechs,
but any of them would only be 3/4 "mastered" because it would have only 1/20 of each module.

I dont see any more costs in the new system.

This so much this. Because the current system takes away what you have previously earned and locks your previous skills behind a nasty c bill pay wall.

All swappers dont have any mastered mechs, they have part mastered mechs with parts of modules on them.
You have 100 mechs but only 2 modules? Then you have 100 mechs with only 1/50 module each, not more and thats what you will get in the new system.

But there should be a "set" bonus for chassis,
like you get 5% discount on every mechs from the same chassis you own.
(15% discount with the rule of 3, up to 40% if you have all 8 viariants of the locust)

That's true in regard to modules but not in regard to the rest of the 'skills'.

Currently getting a mech to basic/elite mastered has no C-bill cost and gives you a certain amount of boost.

You can add modules, or not, as you see fit, as you can afford them, and at any time.

The new skill tree forces you to pay towards all the possible modules in increments, so you have to pay to get back to the equivalent basic/elite/mastered level.

Spreading the cost of the modules out amongst the skill tree nodes mean you no longer get the choice of using modules as and when you want to/can afford to.
