There's a Vulture right next to me, it's a teammate. It was him.
Actually, it's a unitmate! looooooooool. He was actually sticking around to protect me, but he got tired of waiting for me to reconnect, just said "sod it" and legged me the moment before I ended up reconnecting. So I return the favour and leg him in turn. Fair's fair!
At this moment, an entire lance of enemy mechs crests the hill about 800m in front of us and starts unloading. We're on Alpine. We're both legged. We have nowhere to go. So I die a a horrible undignified death mostly to the LRMs. My mate in the Vulture, of course he gets away at my expense! He's legged, on Alpine, with SRM36! Surely they'll put him down quickly...
I spectate as he trods around at 40 kph. One kill. Two kills. Three kills.
We won the match, he did top kills, and top damage in the match. In a legged-at-spawn Vulture with only SRMs. On Alpine.
And they say you can't brawl on Alpine.

I did this yesterday. Also got my back alphaed when there was clearly no enemy around.
Last week, I was quickly testing the weapon grouping and shot close to another teammate. I didn't hit them AT ALL but they turned around and launched a salvo of lrms at me. I put a few srms into their back to even it out.

To make that stop though, just be very vocal on your mic.
Mostly though, it usually pilot error, i've definitly ran my cheetach in-front of a group of people blasting away and got nuked.
Only to say to myself...well that was stupid of me.

At the beginning of the match I suggested "Stick together and focus fire". The person involved seemed to have an issue with any sort of authority and began to engage me, starting with stripping my rear armor ... when I objected, he even explained he didn't like anyone giving orders in team chat and continued to fire. One of my team mates came to my assistance and he TKed them.
Between myself and a couple of others we finished him off before he could damage anyone else and we went on to win the match. I reported the TK to the support email. This match was before they had all of their customer support infrastructure in place so I was accidentally CCed on the resolution email

I have run into very few TK situations in years of playing this game. However, this one was particularly memorable since the player actually tried to justify their actions in chat during the match. In retrospect, it made for an interesting, unexpected though irritating experience that appeared to be appropriately dealt with by customer support.
I think it would be a good thing if PGI actually reported a monthly or quarterly summary of discipline actions taken, if only to emphasize to folks that there are consequences for inappropriate play.

You realize that for IS mechs at less than 180m ... LRMs do no damage right? (even clan LRMs do reduced damage)? Also, since they can't lock team mates any LRM fire is just ballistic and isn't very likely to hit much if at all? SRMs on the other hand are a different story altogether.
The same goes for PPCs at less than 90m. If I am stuck in a situation where a team mate might cut me off, I will happily fire PPCs past adjacent team mates since I know they won't do any damage if they actually get in the way.

Where did I mention IS? I failed to mention the player fired other weapons as well.
Anyways, the damage was substantial which is why I brought it up.

to see if he'd actually do it. He ended up doing it and I died. We ended up laughing our butts off
Also there was this time when me and a friendly Puma got stuck together in the terrain at Mining. We decided to drop an arty in our position and died together since couldn't get out. Thought it was hilarious

On that note, why do team bumps always have to hit the legs. Ramming should be a legit move for zombie mechs without guns remaining.

It that still possible ?
I knew a teamkiller back in the BETA.
HE managed to kill his COMPLETE own team and himself before an enemy could even shot one of them.

The craziest part, is most sincerely believe that the 1400 team damage was UNINTENTIONAL. Chew on that.

The other team wiped the floor of my team then legged me then left till the end of the match after they wiped out the rest.
In chat it was "Mud gets to live." Pretty funny one I remember. Someone claimed they were goonies (think that's what they called them) but I never new for sure.
Was a lot of fun back int he day and you never knew what you would see in a drop. Now its wash rinse repeat.
