I'm doing my normal solo queue shenanigans and I crash at the loading screen, so I was reconnecting to the match late. I get in, and ... I'm legged!

There's a Vulture right next to me, it's a teammate. It was him.

Actually, it's a unitmate! looooooooool. He was actually sticking around to protect me, but he got tired of waiting for me to reconnect, just said "sod it" and legged me the moment before I ended up reconnecting. So I return the favour and leg him in turn. Fair's fair!

At this moment, an entire lance of enemy mechs crests the hill about 800m in front of us and starts unloading. We're on Alpine. We're both legged. We have nowhere to go. So I die a a horrible undignified death mostly to the LRMs. My mate in the Vulture, of course he gets away at my expense! He's legged, on Alpine, with SRM36! Surely they'll put him down quickly...

I spectate as he trods around at 40 kph. One kill. Two kills. Three kills.

We won the match, he did top kills, and top damage in the match. In a legged-at-spawn Vulture with only SRMs. On Alpine.

And they say you can't brawl on Alpine.

Long a go in Mining Collective when I'm riding Kodiak 3, I TK'ed my teammate because I'm using Thermal Vision and I mistaken him as my enemy. Next Match after that, in Canyon I got TK'ed by Dual Gauss Jagermech in my Kodiak's back. I take that as Karma even though on both match we actually winning.

Anytime a friendly mech is between you and an enemy mech in such a way that the red brackets line up perfectly with the friendly mech.... wammo! I am quick to apologize.

I did this yesterday. Also got my back alphaed when there was clearly no enemy around.

Last week, I was quickly testing the weapon grouping and shot close to another teammate. I didn't hit them AT ALL but they turned around and launched a salvo of lrms at me. I put a few srms into their back to even it out.

It happens, especially if you're in murderball, and there are lasers flying around.
To make that stop though, just be very vocal on your mic.

Mostly though, it usually pilot error, i've definitly ran my cheetach in-front of a group of people blasting away and got nuked.
Only to say to myself...well that was stupid of me.

Very early on in the game I ran into an anarchist :)

At the beginning of the match I suggested "Stick together and focus fire". The person involved seemed to have an issue with any sort of authority and began to engage me, starting with stripping my rear armor ... when I objected, he even explained he didn't like anyone giving orders in team chat and continued to fire. One of my team mates came to my assistance and he TKed them.

Between myself and a couple of others we finished him off before he could damage anyone else and we went on to win the match. I reported the TK to the support email. This match was before they had all of their customer support infrastructure in place so I was accidentally CCed on the resolution email :) ... the player received a 1 week suspension. It was an interesting insight into the way their system worked at the time.

I have run into very few TK situations in years of playing this game. However, this one was particularly memorable since the player actually tried to justify their actions in chat during the match. In retrospect, it made for an interesting, unexpected though irritating experience that appeared to be appropriately dealt with by customer support.

I think it would be a good thing if PGI actually reported a monthly or quarterly summary of discipline actions taken, if only to emphasize to folks that there are consequences for inappropriate play.

You realize that for IS mechs at less than 180m ... LRMs do no damage right? (even clan LRMs do reduced damage)? Also, since they can't lock team mates any LRM fire is just ballistic and isn't very likely to hit much if at all? SRMs on the other hand are a different story altogether.

The same goes for PPCs at less than 90m. If I am stuck in a situation where a team mate might cut me off, I will happily fire PPCs past adjacent team mates since I know they won't do any damage if they actually get in the way.

Where did I mention IS? I failed to mention the player fired other weapons as well.

Anyways, the damage was substantial which is why I brought it up.

One match I dont know when or what map some guy alpha me in back because I was in front of him and he had to move to avoid me. Mind you we just started the match and no enemy's were in sight.. "I asked him WTF did you do that for?" His reply was "I was in front him walking and he had to move to avoid me" So as a cool person I was I didnt say anything then I moved behind him alpha one leg and both of his arms so he had no weapons and can only move with one leg and left him there to get eaten up by a pack of lights..

Oh that was a glorious day...

Amazingly I haven't even had a penalty this entire year until a match ago when someone just wandered into my airstrike. (83 points from that).

Me and my buddy were doing group drops, casual fun and all that. I guess he was setting up his fire control when he "accidentally" shot me in the leg. I turned around and "accidentally" misfired Medium Pulse on his face in return. He then unloaded a couple Medium lasers on my face and when my head was Cherry red I was all like

to see if he'd actually do it. He ended up doing it and I died. We ended up laughing our butts off

Also there was this time when me and a friendly Puma got stuck together in the terrain at Mining. We decided to drop an arty in our position and died together since couldn't get out. Thought it was hilarious

had a friendly med jump in front of me while my shots were flying.. took him out in 1 salvo (he had yellowish torso) he stayed the entire game to call me every name in the book.

End of the game i had like 15 team damage but somehow it was my fault according to him..

one day i made a troll build, put 3 uac20s on a dire whale. i saw an enemy in a trench so i hopped down and started blasting. little did i know there was another friendly down there already blasting. i landed directly behind and to the left of him, i have 2 uac20s on my right side, guss where they were lined up. i shredded through him not even knowing he was there, until i turned and saw his wrecked hulk. i got my kill and my team mate and then i got called a ****.

I had really weird scenario where I was in a PB, one leg lost, one leg crit red. A team mate in a firestarter ran around the corner and clipped my leg, I died from him. It must have looked quite funny but it took me ages to work out how I died. It's only when people speccing the firestarter answered to me on what happened, it kinda made sense. He tripped on my broken leg :(

On that note, why do team bumps always have to hit the legs. Ramming should be a legit move for zombie mechs without guns remaining.

There is a legendary ghost bear mechwarrior who did over 1400 points of team damage in a match, without teamkilling. There is a video record of this hidden in the archives. It is oft marveled at, and near impossible to comprehend. It boggles the mind.

It that still possible ?

I knew a teamkiller back in the BETA.

HE managed to kill his COMPLETE own team and himself before an enemy could even shot one of them.

It was on old Frozen City, brawling in between buildings and there were two stormcrows. One of 'em was enemy, the other a friendly. Both got killed by me. Accidental shot with gauss that was suppose to finish off the guy next to him.
Well shieeet.
Oh and got ace of spades on that match too (I wonder IF TK's count towards that as well? :D)

The craziest part, is most sincerely believe that the 1400 team damage was UNINTENTIONAL. Chew on that.

Back in the day I think 2014 I was railing pretty hard on the forums about Steinerfest and their synch dropping antics. Seems they took a strong dislike for me over it and there was a couple of weeks where if I dropped with Steiners on my team I was assured they would TK me at the start of a match. It was 50/50 whenever i dropped that I would die in the first 30 seconds. One day I dropped in a joke build cat c2 with the biggest xl dual llasers and lrms and pretty much no armor on Tourmaline Somehow I screwed off the pad with minimal damage but I had four Steiners on my team and the other team to contend with.
The other team wiped the floor of my team then legged me then left till the end of the match after they wiped out the rest.

In chat it was "Mud gets to live." Pretty funny one I remember. Someone claimed they were goonies (think that's what they called them) but I never new for sure.

Was a lot of fun back int he day and you never knew what you would see in a drop. Now its wash rinse repeat.

My least favorite TK was the 3rd game (and last) a buddy had. We dropped on mining and he's shooting at the red doritoes... unfortunately it's overlapping a blue dorito... the Warhammer who's back armour was probably all gone now, maybe even internals ...turned around walked up point blank and killed my friend. Totally understand the other pilots frustration... regrettably was the final straw in the NPE of the clan I play for outside of MWO. - Oh hai solo queue

Worst for me was 2 tks in 1 match. First guy gets killed in an air strike, the second I barely nicked when he ran into my laser..... 27 team damage and 2 tk's...............aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgh.
