Favorite ingame mech? Defs the Linebacker. Its just mean looking, despite its lack of followers. Also one of my favorite heavies to play as well.

Favorite that isnt in the game that wont be added? Osteon. Coz i mean look at it.

Favorite that might get added? Argus. And not just any Argus, but THIS ARGUS

Maybe he was talking about the MechAssault Puma?

Which is essentially a Cougar.

I do suspect that the Uziel will come eventually.
However I would like to see some quads in the game. But that's probably too hard to animate or something.

The Flea could be fun if we didn't get CryEngine.

I think the Stiletto is another cool mech. Would love it in MWO for it's smaller than a Raven SRM spam

Flea is totally functional. The only versions with MASC, even with MAX Engine, would move about 170 kph, which is doable. IT's just the Flea was always the poor man's Locust.

Quads are simply a matter of there not really being enough of them, (especially enough popular ones.. lets face it, a lot of Quads are.... meh) to be worth the extra amount of effort. I'd love to see Scorpions in game, among a few others, but can understand the economics just don't add up.

So hard to pick a favorite. It is so close between the Marauder, Catapult K2/Jester, and Ebon Jaguar for me.

ok..ok...
  • 1st: Catapult K2/Jester
  • 2nd: Marauder
  • 3rd: Ebon Jaguar

The K2 just beats out the Marauder. The Marauder is very good looking IMO, but the K2 is just a tiny bit more cooler. I think a lot of it has to do with it being an Iconic mech (Catapult at least) and that it still was the most exciting design of the Catapult ever put into a video game. The Marauder is sleek and looks powerful, but the K2 just has enough of that chunky IS styling and yet still looks sleek and menacing.

The EBJ is also up there, but I think the main thing holding it back is all the bare metal (grey) and the big arms. Still though, being my third favorite looking chassis still shows that it is cool in my book.

I always knew counting to be tough... but how hard is it to count to ONE? ;)

Eh. I can, off the top of my head, count at least 8 quads, one per weight class per IS and Clan. Especially as we've moved the timeline up.

Tarantula
Snow Fox

Scorpion
Stalking Spider

Barghest
Fire Scorpion

Goliath
Thunder Stallion

I mean, nearly a year's worth of revenue, even if it is spaced out with bipedal mechs in between, is still a solid chunk of cash.

only a solid chunk IF THEY SELL... and half of those would not.

And still 8 whole mechs? Nope, not enough justification, especially since there is no chance they would come out in bulk to recoup the investment, but be spread out.

When you have to choose between a LOT of cool mechs in your line-up, surprisingly it is difficult :).

If you mean the fact that number one was Catapult K2/Jester, I was going off of physical design and not picking 2 individual chassis per se. I just wanted to distinguishthat design from the regular missile carrier Catapults. If I have to go as far as a specific variant, then the Jester beats out the K2.

I really agree. As I was posting that, I thought "man, those dekkles look really bad." They were put there mostly as a gag, but yeah. Kinda ick. They really need to find a way to make them share the wear/finish that's around them.

I have quite a few. Among them. Flea, Cougar, Mad Dog (mk II), Shadow Cat, Hellhound (MW 4) Thunderbolt, Jager, Thor, Viking, Banshee, Dire Wolf.
But of all, it gotta be this thing, The Shadow Hawk.

And why?

No I'm not asking what is the ubertier meta Gundam. I can look up metamechs.com, too.

But what is the mech, when you see it, be it on game, in your mechlab, whatever, that you just pause and think..... Man.. That thing is frikking cool.

(Correct answer is obviously Urbanmechs, but I need to gauge the level of Urbielightenment around here.....)

The 'Mech models for this game are designed by Alex, and you want us to pick just ONE? Posted Image

I'd have to go with the Cyclops. How they managed to take the skinny punk kid of the IS Assault lineup and make it look like a Gundam's buffer, cooler, more laid-back big brother I don't know, but they did.

Posted Image

I did not choose UrbanMech for this as the Urbie resides on a plane of perfection above that of other 'Mechs, and doing so would have diminished it in unseemly fashion.

yeah, that is up there with fixing the dynamic weapons. Sheesh. Force a super weathered texture.... but then not have it affect dekkles. I guess that is the MWO equivalent of fixing up a beater car by slapping a new bumper sticker on it.
