Mine just happened ytd. In a srm48 huntsman baguette in tourmaline. Noticed they had too much ranged weapons so decided on a flank to attempt taking down some of their long range firepower. Successfully took a BJ-1, spirit bear and a gyr from the back (1 shot each from the back) then joined the fray. Took another super nova from the back but rng let heat take my leg off. But for some really weird reason, still managed to limp to a dune and use dune to pop tart splat another super nova and whk. We lost the game due to them picking apart the vip at range, but *edit* 5 solo kills plus 1 in 640 dmg 495 tonnes to a 50 tonne ratio felt really good

All the times I've scored post-death kills. It's happened maybe 3 times. It involves a slugging match, usually in a confined area, where you know you're not going to survive so you drop arty on your own location. I sometimes refer to the maneuver as "From Hell's Heart I Stab at Thee".

However, I know I'm doing something right when my opponents are talking smack about me in the pre-drop countdown, and yes it does happen...

I've run afoul of Zippy a few times in the solo queue. He's one of those players that knows how to pick and choose his fights, and if you don't take him seriously he will end you. Only a fool underestimates a foe based on dislike. (As a person, my opinion of Zippy is neutral. As a player, I respect his capabilities.)

I was using a Hunchback, thank you very much. It was the "sweaty hand" incident at the frozen city cave that we do not talk about.

Twas an accident!!!!!! Still makes me giggle thinking about it though.

My accomplishment is actually a Kill A Dev medal. I was awarded this worthy medal after an event called "Kill A Dev Weekend". I proudly hang it in my KDK-3.

Grinded my way onto the very first leaderboard challenge top 50 medium mechs. For anyone who remembers, this one wasn't the '10 best matches'. This was cumulative. I think I played ~200 something matches in the span of 3 days. Was mostly alternating my 9 mplas hunchie with my 2xSRM5MLAS 4SP.

Placed second in one of the very first open tournaments - the inaugural 'Trial by Fire' tourney, with the 'Khan Artists' - randomly lumped together odds-men out group under drop caller KhanCipher. (I came up with the name). Totally pug vs premade and we won second.

Made it on the Locust challenge leaderboard. (1V with ERLLAS)

Killed 3 mechs in a legged spider 5V, group queue, as last man standing.

Had a bugged screen glitch (remember the whiteout screen bug), fired everywhere with my spider 5S and got 3 damage - and 3 assists.

Killed Stingr4y with an LBX10 spider in Monday Marik Madness and won 100 internets.

Placed as one of the units in original Tukayyid and got some cool standing items.

My brother and I sometimes play dual BJ-1X with 8 mplas. One game we went on an unholy murder spree and marked 6 kills (me) and 5 kills (him).

My last achievement is that I can almost always mark at least 1000 damage in FP even when my poor pug team gets roflstomped (I tend to solo drop a lot), and oftentimes even in a rout can scratch out 1200-1500.

I obtained godhood with Locusts before quirks were a thing, and have transcended the chassis to move on to more difficult challenges...like Mist Lynx.

I killed Paul in Closed Beta during a straight 1v1 duel...

No accomplishment can supercede that. I'm not talking difficulty, just dat feel.

Killed Russ in the same manner, on Frozen City, coming out of the old tunnel..... his Dragon, my Centurion. Wish I had shadowplay back then.

That said, probably for me, it was reaching 3rd on the Chassis Challenge in VNDs, despite being a priority target most of the event (because, you know, VNDs are a "free" kill).
https://mwomercs.com...1410chassis#vww
It's also annoying, because I was only able to devote about 7-8 hours of play to it on one day, and so was never able to grind out the extra 90 or so pts needed to top it off, as opposed to those dropping all weekend.

Probably my favorite for a mixed of how maligned the robot is, but also how many actual carry harder matches I had to pull off to get any kind of respectable stats in them. Mixed playing my St Ives Blues and VND-1AA harasser though, and had a lot of fun, even if I never was able to get any respect from even teammates during it. (One of my last matches was a come from behind win though, and probably what made it so special feeling.... Frozen City Night, I got cherry CT cored real early because, well, took a wrong turn in my SIB. Anyhow, rest of the team manages to go get dead, leaving just me, and 6 opfor. And my team tells me to suicide so they can get to the next match, and why did I bring a crap mech like a VND..... so I ignore, them, draw the opfor off, and pick them off, first 3 1v1, the last 3 at one time, with my "PoS" St Ives, and win the match. Needless to say... not a peep out of the rest of team by the end of the match. I like underdog matches)

Beyond that...... honestly, for the most part, I play mostly just to have fun, so while I have had some epeen worthy moments here or there, usually in my Hunchback, not a lot really jump out. Otherwise, I live for the simple pleasures in MWO...... funnily enough, most of my highest scoring matches, have seldom been my "proudest"..... because it usually takes a pretty special mix of badness on BOTH teams to break 1200 damage. (Certainly there are exceptions).

But I am prouder of games like this one

that was on the bleeding edge of disaster almost the whole match, but somehow I managed to carry hard enough to turn it into a victory against the odds. (plus the nerd rage spewed out by a certain Direwolf pilot after I assassinated his clan toy in my cheap, cowardly IS Hunchback 4G....was just priceless) Damage was decent, not spectacular at all... kills, good, but nothing noteworthy... it was just the specifics about the way the match played out, that made it special to me.

Or maybe it was this one, somewhere, I am sure I still have the screenie from a great match on Alpine, with my trusty old 4x L.Laser/Gauss AS7-RS Atlas. Spent most of the match at range, trying to get to the fight, but was being better than normal with my Gauss, and dropped 7 opponents...the last being my trashed RS closing inexorably with the last remaining enemy, a Gauss /ER Large Laser Dragon, Me missing an arm, stripped every, and stumbling across the expanse like a cauldron born from the peat marshes, piece after piece getting blasted off of each of us, til I finally cored him out, down to 1 leg, and 2 large lasers.

Matches like that, or the Frozen one in my VND, are far and away my "proudest" achievements in this game. Memories of great fights mean more to me than badges, leaderboards or achievements, overall.

I agree. Taking out 100s of tons in your Medium or Light feels good.

Play to have fun? What is that? OutreachHPG users tried to bury me recently for saying I play just for fun. They couldn't fathom the idea. Playing a game to have fun, pfffhh. WE PLAY ERRRYY GAME TO THE DEATH!!

my first game in the Jenner IIC, I got about 830 damage, 4 assists and 6 kills (including 4 solo kills, 3 of which were truely solo kills, as in they were dead before anything else had shot at them) before running out of missiles, then spent the last 3 minutes of the match running arround distracting the remaining enemy Mechs while the allies killed them, if I had more SRMs I would have broken a thousand damage in a light Mech (so I down engined from the 315 to a 300 for extra ammo).

as I have been unable to repeat that I am forced to conclude that the fact that MWO had been released on steam 2 days earlier and 3 of my kills were piloting Champion Assualt Mechs which let me get behind them could have been a significant factor.

Don't even need to frag Paul to accomplish that, though.

I got blocked for thinking MechWarrior 3 is better.

to the victors. worst event ever, prize was a mech nobody runs. but i will let go of that champion victor over my dead body because that event was hell.

ironically this was one of my favorite trial mechs when i started. oh how it has fallen.

I too like the intense matches where things just ramp up a notch, especially when I show people up using a subpar mech. When they announced the new skill tree, I bought a catapult A1. I've always wanted catapults, but didn't want three variants. I run it with two lrm 15s and four srm 4s. Since there is only the one, it's just basic'd. So we drop on polar highlands and I run the right flank to get a shot and run into a fresh timberwolf. Brawling ensues...I drop him. Turn around to face a mostly fresh Marauder IIc, take him down too. By now, the rest of their team has caught up and I get knocked out by a nearby kodiak and lrm fire. Great showing. I've also had great fun running the Huggin and Pirate's Bane and just slaughtering lone assaults. Makes for a heck of an evening.

A battle in CB that came down to me vs 4 mechs. Literally surrounded by all 4, pulled off two headshots and two XL checks. I was in a Dragon.

Granted, that was before any type of matchmaker, and the starch was strong in the 4, but it was an intense moment.

Back in the days (like literally years ago, before clans), i clutched a 1v6 on frozen city in my Victor that i had equiped with AC20/SRM and a huge XL engine for sh*ts and giggles. Looking back, it was terribly played by the enemy team, i had quite a bit of luck with an ammo explosion on a K2 but damn...

It was the last match of the day and i couldn't sleep for like two hours because i was so pumped Posted Image Posted Image Hilarious when thinking back nowadays, such bad piloting from everyone (me included). I jumpjetted over the last guy and hit him in the back because he got stuck on a building while trying to turn... pre nerf jumpjets Posted Image

My first true carry was in my RVN-3L and I started by 1v1ing a JM6 in one of the canyons on Canyon (first of 7 kills in the match). Never should have won that fight, never should even have picked that fight, that dude was awful and I got away with stupidity. But you can only fight the guys in the match and I remember that match like it was yesterday. 12-10 win, teammate got the final kill a beat before I would have (long before AoS was a thing, mind...). My hands shook for an hour.
