Not enaugh that PSR is broken, but now it does not work even more as newbprotection.
PGI told us, that they fixed it, but when i talk to friends they tell me that the Games are still horrible.
If u cant fix it, get rid of it. thxbb

Matchmaker may be fixed but unfortunately PSR has a positive bias, so really the tier isn't a true measure of skill. More endurance mixed with skill.

I get quick matches, yes, but you can not really call that matches. PGI really needs to revert the changes.
And this has nothing to do with salt. It just does not make any sense to have try hards and ubercasuals in the same drop. No one has fun in those games.

Nothing to do with salt? This coming from someone who types over allchat "I knew we were going to lose when I saw MacClearly was in the drop".
The system is how it is. Yes it could be improved and likely needs to be improved for everyone's sake. Having you tear into people about not knowing the game and calling them names is not helping the game be fun either. In fact you are one of the things that makes this game worse. We'd all be better off if you either stopped putting out hate over comms and text or left the game completely.

The biggest issue isnt even the presence of derp, its the distribution.
How can one team end up with two or three players that obviously arent familiar with basic mech functions (movement, heat, firing groups...) while the other has none.
So even if MM has to mix T1/T4 or T1/T5 for whatever releasevalve it may opened, at least distribute experienced and less experienced players equally.

Don't even try. Nothing has been fixed.
I decided to try to play several matches, after some fixes for matchmaker were announced recently. What I found out:
1) Terrible matchmaking - check
2) "Bring terrible map" system - check.
Yeah, I know, not enough matches played, but still - tendency is exactly the same.

W/L will stabilize on 1 at some point, but K/D ~= 0.5 and avg match score 100 points below average. As always.

It does not help if you repeat yourself. And this has nothing to do with hate or something. The PSR is not working. That's a fact. Besides you, all the others seem to agree. But I guess it is nice to have a Tier 1 tag.
Oh btw,
you started trolling me, would be very nice if you stop at some point. But I kind of doubt it. As long as you keep on, I might keep on as well.

It's just that it seems we are not getting fairly matched game.

As for the topic ... yea, its still broken, we are still posting and PGI still doesn't give a fk. I've been finding matches real quick during this weekend, like 20-30 seconds quick. Ended them real quick too, either getting rolled within a couple mins or slaughtering half the enemy team in a mech like a Locust within pretty much same couple mins. The select few matches where you do somehow manage to get a few decent players, and they somehow manage to be on both teams for once instead of being stacked together are fun, but negligibly rare. The amount of potatoe-LRM-assaults really says it all ...

It's bad, when you belong to Tier 4, but all of a sudden you were placed into Tier 3, when PSR was implemented, and can't drop back from there. I've said it many times already: it's just unfair, that when you win with good stats - your rating rockets into the sky immediately, but when your stats are terrible - nothing really happens for weeks and months. Yeah. Jump into LRM60 boat, play for several hours - gain 50% of Tier. Lose 100500 matches with 70% below average stats in your normal 'Mech - nothing happens. NOTHING! And that's because PGI want to have some victims for T1 sharks? Go to hell, I don't want to be victim, sorry.

Skill based matchmakers punish the good players by deflating their scores, and reward bad players by inflating their scores, which results in poor players having much less incentive to improve.

Sorry, just no. I've actually played FP for a bit this month and the average PUG there is so much worse than the average PUG in QP. I guess it varies by time of day, but still ...
arivio, on 30 January 2017 - 02:15 AM, said:

I don't think QP was ever close to comp. Elo could have made it so if done right and if more good players were still playing when Elo rolled out, but there were too many shenenegans still. Like when we had 4-man max group size and MM dropped 4 BSMC + 4 Lords + 4 RJF vs a bunch of random 2s and 3s. Elo was really good for a week, then degraded due to broken metrics, however the initial "seeding" based on whatever player stats they used was good, which leads you to conclusion that you actually can make a working MM with a proper skill-based metric. But once again, its PGI and PGI is gonna do what PGI is gonna do ... keep calm and stay clueless.
