I am from the U.S. and I play a lot of different hours. I play with the Europeans and the Pan-Pacific players. I have not been able to nail down the oceanic server, but I have noticed that the Europeans do not seem to be as aggressive in their play style as the Americans. Has anyone else noticed any differences in the different regional play styles?

This thread again, I play mix of US/EU server and see players from both continents on both servers. The only difference is that US potatoes are more likely to talk trash then try to hide the other team to death. Don't assume just because the server is one place that means all the players are from that continent. I have better ping on the NA servers than my unit mates from Texas and Arizona.

Imo, most of this is confirmation bias.

So many people have both servers checked. I do see people with EU pings on the US server during US prime all the time (i'm mostly playing in off-hours for my timezone). I have been on US server matches with mostly EU players (that i either knew were EU players or could say from their names, especially germans) when it was 8 AM here.

People really see what they want to believe. I get matches were literally no one moves on US servers while getting matches on EU servers where everyone pushes hard. Next matches, it's the other way around.

It's a narrative that has been pushed for a long time, and personally i couldn't find a ounce of truth behind it thus far.

IF you guys would carefully reread his post he is not deducting regions from servers but rather from daytime.

AND the observation that the averange subjectively observed playstyle changes significantly with the time of day is absolutely true.
BUT even if this seems to be an obvious connection it hasn't anything to do with the whereabouts of ppl.

I found two main reasons for this observed change for myself.

1st population: Quality of matches change with population since the match makers work gets easyer during european and US eastcoast primetime.

2nd during late morning hours and high noon in central eu the ammount of american latenight tired (coughdrunkcough) players is the highest --> easy pray

When I want to not be picked on anymore by Tier 1 comp pro's, I uncheck NA and EU. I'd rather have **** ping and **** hitreg and a longer wait if it means I can go through a whole match without being called a 'useless ****'.

If you would carefully reread his post, you would notice that he specifically claims that Europeans play differently than Americans.

Which is, imo, a confirmation bias driven urban legend that has not been proven besides people claiming "guys i'm telling you, murrica so aggressive, EU just hiding GUIZ I'M TELLING YOU!"

What you are talking about is quality of matches, which is naturally lower in offhours due to how the MM works. What he talkes about is "regional play styles".

Try and listen to what people are saying and learn from it rather than bury your head in the sand.

This has been discussed a couple of times.

Americans play more aggressive.
It makes them look more brave if aggressiveness is the right thing to do in a certain tactical situation.
It makes them look like dumb suiciders (no offense) if a more tactical approach would be superior (exploiting range, flanking, firing line, etc.)

Europeans tend to be the opposite:
Look like cowards if aggressiveness would be required.
Look pretty smart in more tactical situations.

I can't exactely say what is better. I guess 50-50, depending on the situation.
An aggressive death ball can be superior, but it can also lead into total disaster.
Stomping people smartly at range or so 12-0 can be superior, but you can also get picked off one by one 0-12.

Personally, I'm rather a smart coward than a dead hero.
I try to exploit range etc. if possible. But if a push and a dirty brawl is really required, you must be able to switch to it. I guess europeans really hesitate there a little too much.
But let me tell you: I see a LOT of dumb suiciders. Running into choke points instead of using them to choke the enemy. Running alone into 4 enemies and then complaining from the afterlife that the team are cowards and didn't storm forward mindlessly as they did.

I guess most americans say they're rather a dead hero than a smart coward.
Too much hollywood and army romanticism, I guess.
