So, I'd expect increased AMS to result in overall decreased LRM use, moderately on both counts. But this would allow for some LRM tweaking.
Either it would allow some LRM tweaking and making them a more "reliable" weapon system, or it would just make LRMs continue to be a weapon "deadly to the lower skilled, more challenging to more skilled" weapon system.
AKA: Either everyone would load up on AMS to balance LRMs new upgrades, or LRMs would be deadly when in matches without AMS, and harmless in matches with AMS. Much like the early days of ECM, which sometimes is still a problem even today. (A match full of ECM mechs on one team, against a team with some LRM support starts to feel a little lopsided, even today. It can still knock an entire weapon system out of the game, unless a lot of luck and/or skill is involved with the LRMs.)
(I know. I insinuated that LRMs require skills. I'm crazy. I know.)
