Polar Needs A City In The Middle

Polar Highlands would be fine if the matchmaking wasn't ****. 6 LRM boats on the other team and not a soul with missiles, AMS, or ECM on yours? So fun. (*bask in the sarcasm*)

To many hiding hole in polar, we don't have real plain, something without 20m deep ditch all over the place...

1) We need a big plain with few destructible farm building and two small village on each side. A big flat map with even less hiding places.

2) We need a big Manhattan style city map without any open places too.

Way too much single weapon type mech.

a few more of those hangars and oil tanks in the middle would be nice, yes. Or why dont just put the domination point somewhere where are buildings in the middle. No reason that a dom point has to be always in the middle of the map.

And the map is way too big. It s a pain to get around with an under 80 kph mech. Two thirds map are always never used.

This map needs some terrain to fight near and to break up all that empty expanse. This map is even huge when used in FP.

Neg on the city. Putting a building in the middle would ruin sightlines and thus ruin the map.


The problem with Polar is that the center is just too flat. The rest of the map has all these interesting trenches, but the center lacks that entirely. Zero trenches. It needs trenches.

Pink circle is the area that is too flat. Yellow circles are examples of where there are particularly interesting trenches. I would like to see more of the trench-style terrain essentially copy-pasted into the pink circle.

Tarogato, I share your sentiment about trenches but the pink region is where frozen rusted junk needs to be placed. This frozen rusted junk should be liberally strewn around the map shielding trench entrances/exits, etc.

How about we just get rid of polar and bring classic forest and frozen back. The large open maps need to go. More maps with verticality and some open areas with a top, mid and bottom to control would be nice and give players options that agree with their loadouts. Got LRM's , go top, got MPL's or LPS's , go mid, got a ac20 Juggernaut, go bottom. Give players a map where they can use terrain and not feel like crap. Polar is a smouldering pile of crap that needs to be purged.

They need to bring back many of the classic maps back to rotation as classic maps.

one thing really bad weather blinding storms, high winds, maybe electric storm mess up the censers , making the place a real pain to play like real life sometimes it just hard .
