Overlord? Is it not formed like an egg? and the Union class is more like a Ball.
And this looks more tube formed oO

I also always wonder about the measurement... I mean when this is a drop ship, the mech seems a bit big to pack 15 or so inside a dropship.
Yes, an Overlord is formed like an egg, and I think the engines for it are in the foreground, along with one of it's very stout landing gear, and it's laying on its side. Yes, the Union is a large ball that can hold 12 'Mechs while an Overlord can hold up to 36. I think it's probably tube-formed because of the crash. Remember, a spheroid DropShip is mostly hollow on the inside, to provide the best repair and command space possible. I'm thinking the 'Mech is just the right size, were this ship not crushed in on itself and was standing upright.

Even with the impact it would not logically deform an Overlord or Orion dropship to that configuration and it is too small to be either an Overlord or an Orion dropship.

The config is more like a Leopard dropship.

Looks like an Archer with one LRM-20 gone and replaced with something else.

Uhh, yeah, an AC/20.

And, whomever said it, I think you're right, it is a Leopard.

Looks like a Hunchback to me..I love how it shows the hard skid landing of said ship Union class maybe? it just slides to a halt short of the edge of the cliff.

It can't possibly be a Union class dropship due to the shape of the wreck and the outlying pieces of the wreck. As I mentioned above with the pictures of the Leopard Class Dropship it matches even the external engines match the debrie field.

Below are pictures of the Union Class dropship which has INTERNAL engine mounts.

The problem I have with the Leopard cause I thought that also at first, is the Leopards engines are spaced far apart and these seem to be linked so I looked at the drawing of Union class in flight from my 3057 tech readout book and engines seem to match. So I just went with the engines as the biggest clue since most of the ship is gone.

I think it could be an older design, like a Vulture or Manatee, since it's obviously not in working order, something no longer flying. I really doubt it's an Overlord, Union or Leopard...

was thinking about a Vulture too, but saw its very old and maybe no longer in use.
But I do not have any canonical knowledge about tech ^^

Yeah, I'd need more pictures of one. I want to say that the "top" ( the more intact part to the right) almost looks like it had a DC dragon (ED:the same colors as the DC Dragon insignia), does it not?

or maybe.... the artist did not think long enough about the geeks argue about the type of the Dropship
and just simply put metal scrap on the landscape. XD

except that the dragon and grand dragon are esthetically the same mech

Only mostly, the Grand Dragon has a lower arm actuator instead of the gunarm that the Dragon does.

Looking at the picture again closer, I agree that it is a Hunchback. The legs look like a match to me as well as that arm. What threw me was that the shoulders looked symmetrical at my first look, so I threw the Hunchback out as an option.
