I know. I can't belive I just suggested it, either, but the tree is just too tempting to not max out [save the ams overload nodes]. It is a no-brainer for most Mechs. Light Mechs, Mediums... everyone can benefit from it to a huge degree. I think it needs about ten more nodes to make it more costly in resources to flesh out. The skill expenditure doesn't exactly match the benefits.

its better than it was, and i think its ok,
id rather see other Nodes come up to their level,
then have them go down into irrelevancy,

Oddly, I had the opposite impression when I saw the effects: between how small it seemed with a substantial investment, and the need to invest heavily into Mobility (to have a better torso twist than the average Potato,) Survival doesn't seem worthwhile at all. But maybe I'm missing something?

Instead of making the survival tree worse, just let people get linear trees so they spend on firepower or mobility or whatever without thinking "why would I buy 10 energy upgrades so I can get cooldown for my gauss" or "why would I buy 10 arm movement upgrades in my mech with no arm weapons when all I wanted was some speed tweak"

Survival tree is currently the one that lets you get a mix of decent stuff without paying a boatload in junk.

I thought that the common complaint was TTK being too fast?

The survival tree is fine.

I don't know. It feels too easy to max out to me. It looks so small compared to the other trees. I guess I'm thinking of it from the Clan perspective, putting better armour and durability into Mechs that previously had no such benefit, such as the Stormcrow. The armour and durability quirks look quite good in that regard.

It looks small by comparison because the other trees are massively bloated with placeholder garbage skills.

Survival still has some bloat, but not quite as much as some of the others like Mobility, Firepower, or Operations...

Its one pages least "bloated with placeholder garbage", and it is still 54% bloat.
