Module switching is too tedious, I agree (I play Merc faction in CW so I have to switch modules between dozens of mechs each week). I personally do not like the part where players can have 4 or more consumable slots, as that further distances players with enough cash, and those who do not.

Switched them early on then never again as I just bought modules for every mech.

I am guessing this was the exchange for the lower cost skill tree. They have to keep the Paul economy balanced.

Right, but it is a really bad way of doing it. In CW it will be even more apparent. I thought PGI had learned from the Long Tom fiasco, on snowballing the stronger side.

I'd rather switch modules around than be charged a much greater amount of C-Bills over time.

I'd rather switch modules around than have to pay cbills up front for basic skills required to make my 'Mechs minimally frikkin' viable, including for 'Mechs that I currently already have those skills unlocked for.

Until or unless PGI does away with the cbill cost for all unlocks equating to current basic, elite, and master skills, the new skill tree will never be "good." Re-grinding 'Mechs is not okay.

Except it's not worth speccing the tree past the very first node giving +1 slot, in which you can only equip a UAV (at least on PTS).

Selecting the 91 skill points for 150 mechs should be fun.

Let's do some rough math. ~100 skill points * 2 seconds per click on average * 150 mechs = 30,000 seconds of clicking = 500 minutes = 4 hours and 20 minutes of clicking skills for my mechs.

Enjoy your super terrific carpal tunnel syndrome.

I will spec out one Mech each night, play that for the night, then spec out another Mech the day after.

I won't need to buy any more Mechs as I will have 243 days to spec all the existing ones.

BTW: great business strategy, PGI.

Oh don't worry, the corrective surgery isn't that bad. You can live without your dominant hand for about two weeks, right?

Screw that.

My honey had the surgery and the next few weeks were terrible. So now every piece of equipment I have at work is 100% tailored to my ergonomic specifications. The best part of it all is that no one is saying "No". <maniacal Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image>

Not to mention that module swaps let you re-spec your mech for free and zero effort outside of swapping the modules that match your new weapon load-out.

Exactly. The benefit of not needing to hunt for modules is more than negated by now basically needing to buy modules PER MECH since you can't move skills around anymore. Oh, and you have to essentially buy useless modules now, too, to get to the good ones that are gated behind trash in the insanely illogical skill maze they've created. Then, we get into the respec costs - you didn't have to pay XP or cbills to move a module to a new mech - and it becomes apparent this new system is FAR more expensive than the old one.

But that's the goal, as far as I can tell. A switch from selling mechs to selling premium time to grind (and regrind after each skill maze update) your existing mechs. It's not acceptable and certainly won't encourage me to spend another dime on this game if it goes live.

Stupid module switching? Why would you possibly have a problem with people saving cbills/grind?
