I've haven't had a solo drop take more than 30 seconds to form a group in over a year and a half... so I don't exactly see this as some sort of massive change for the better.

Massive? Nah. I claim nothing of the sort.

Just had an idea. Instead of this stupid, lopsided, Escort game mode that we currently just got, which in my opinion is massively bad. We change it to Escort the VIPs, which is a 2-man on each team. A team wins if your team kills BOTH of the enemy's VIPs. Same goes for your team. That should make thing much more interesting than trying to defend a clueless Atlas.

I doubt that letting a single two man group into a solo drop, after they have been waiting a couple minutes in group is going to equate to constant pug stomps by two players.

It wouldn't make a difference but the perception would.

The issue is the average human is far more likely to seek a scapegoat for failures than admit they may have been at fault.

So while the number of wins vs losses may remain the same but every loss will be precieved as being due to the 2 player groups.

It's easier to blame "tryhards" than admit that your own performance wasn't up to task.

Many solo players have unrealistic expectations and standards. Somehow it's ok for 12 players who are randomly assigned to a team to use vocal communication and cooperation and win than have just two players who intentionally grouped up to do the same.

I am honestly amazed than no one has rallied against the in game VOIP and "microphone tryhards" roflstomping the poor mute players who don't use coms.

This is because in-game VOIP is occasionally used or used poorly.

People don't understand the working together tends to bring the results you want (usually winning), but it's just easier to blame people for totally NOT reading your mind.

Depends on the 2 man, we generally won't run group que unless 4 or more. So we drop on solo and chat on team speak. The few times we end up in the same team it definitely helps.

The other side is when there were groups in with the solo pugs, there were no in-game voip for anyone but the groups were very likely in VOIP-TS/etc, PGI did NOT limit the number of groups per side, nor could you time who was grouped up or not.

Which then leads to the following-

Quote

It wouldn't make a difference but the perception would.

The issue is the average human is far more likely to seek a scapegoat for failures than admit they may have been at fault.

And we did not get in-game VOIP until 1st quarter of 2015, a few months AFTER CW was released in Dec 2014.

If PGI even considered it - the following would need to happen (but I do not see it happening..just saying)..
  • No averaging Tiers- T1 + T4 -> drop as T1
  • Only one duo per side
  • Duo can not OPT-OUT of Group queue, but duo would have to OPT-IN for the other queue each time duo is formed.
  • Weight or Class limit - with the understanding that if opt-in, the two may drop in either non-group/group queue.

This has been discussed before and the answer is still a resounding nope.
