That's exactly what the CBill cost to use XP feels like: a paywall for XP.

It will feel like my progress that I have already made leveling Mechs is being taken away from me. It will not be an enjoyable experience.

Please don't make me regrind everything for some irrational fear that I'll have too many CBills. I assure you I will likely be broke again within a week of the module refunds and will still make use of premium time and premium Mechs to keep up after that.

The c-bill cost on xp nodes is just going to lead to stagnation and focusing, since it will cost too much time and energy to skill up multiple mechs and it even costs c-bills just to change the load out even if you already have the weapons and equipment necessary. That means people will have maybe 3 or 4 mechs with one load out each. Half the fun of Mechwarrior is testing new load outs, but they want to punish us for that now.

Exactly. Unfortunate, assorted white knights have mouthed off enough to PGI that they can simply list them as "examples of players loving the new changes" and just ignore the vast majority of the player base who hates the skill maze, nerfs, and increased grind.

PGI has made their choice regarding their new business model - it will be GRIND vs. CONTENT from here out. And keep in mind that aside from mech packs, this game doesn't have much content to begin with; still, a least a mech pack is a new product, while regrinding mechs is not. The final insult will come when the new tech they introduce upends any remaining balance in the game and forces new meta mech purchases and loadouts, complete with an almost certain skill maze change and the costly respecing that will come with all of this. It'll be a swift kick to anyone who fell for the "shiny new tech" distraction to hide the horrible skill maze.

what i don't understand is why didn't they consider taking the module refund and instead of a massive cbill dump that russ feels the need to balanced with a cbill cost. To just converting the module costs into GXP for refunds ?? that would be preferable over having to spread what cbills i have for Mech components , mechs, consumables and skill trees
