If so how much heat?

Thanks

No
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...eapon_heatscale

4 cERPPCs is just about 100 heat

Even this 31 DHS Whale would just barely overheat
And that's with over 10 tons unfilled

No, its like 103 heat and the Dire Wolf will only have a heat cap of 96, and a lot of left over tonnage.

If you want dual gauss, you're better off running 2 (optimal) or 3 (bigger punch for higher heat, will put you up to around 98% heat on hot maps, basing it off my 3 PPC TBR)

We already have a 100 ton Clan Battlemech so it should be your gold standard (because you can change everything).

Its a little hot but a 3ppc 2gauss kdk3 works ok.

How much time is needed between firing the ppcs to not have ghost heat?

About 122 bpm.

Or 0.450 - 0.500 seconds

You could do 2ERPPC, 2GAUSS, then double tap 2 more ERPPC half a sec later.

You overheat in 4 volleys on the dual ppc dual gauss fit for the dire wolf anyway, why would you want to add even more of them

On top of that when the skill tree hits all of those elite skills you'll have to buy back through it for heat containment/coolrun will be less effective anyway

Go out there and wreck some Kodiaks with no ghost heat.

I like where you are going with this idea. I'd say 3 might be the ideal number with dual gauss. Even then, that's as long as you can fire the dual gauss independently, then you will be golden (you can keep doing that till ya cool down for another big alpha). Not every shot will need a high alpha so just pick your moment well.

Cons:
Lights will tear you a new one with that weapon load out.
Your aim must be on point always.
You might need to invest in a zoom module.
Even if you are sniping you'll have to keep moving with the herd so you don't get left for dead (which people will do regardless of your build).
Convergence with most dual gauss setups suck.

The only chassis I know that 4 erppc works on is this WHK-PRIME

And even then it only works because you never fire all 4 at the same time. I usually put left arm and right arm as my weapon groups and then chain fire each.

Ghost heat threshold is firing within .5 seconds. Incorrect delays are still not *quite* as hot since some heat dissipation is taking place in the, say .4 seconds. 4 ERPPCs mistimed will still cook you though because the penalty is so high. Alpha'ing a Warhawk Prime (which this is with two Gauss strapped on because Dire Whale) has never been a particularly good idea in BT/MW (you'd never do it with a stock, fully armed Prime in TT since that carries LRMs and ammo can explode from excess heat). Ghost heat just ramps it up to an assured shutdown.
