Sadly, it's spot on accurate.

Once they start waving some new shiny farkle at the whales, they forget all about being upset and the wallets open.

I've actually gotten pretty happy with waiting for mechs to come out for c-bills. Sure I miss out on some of the early stomping you get on a killer chassis (Timberwolf....cough, ...cough...Grizzly..cough, cough) but you also get to wait for the best loadouts to be determined, and you miss out on the inevitable nerfing of said chassis in preperation for the new "must have" chassis.

As far as the new skill tree goes, well I'm rarely playing these days anyhow, so I will wait for the dust to settle and the verdicts to come in on what nodes are worth it and what aren't before doing anything.

Funny, because they took away the GXP requirement for module unlocks, which is tied to MC conversions. And you only need 1 mech to Master a variant, now.


Sadly, bittervets are incapable of passing-up an opportunity to insult PGI, regardless if it's accurate or not. Like tossing out "Yo Mama's so fat" jokes to a kid with a skinny mom. I know you feel smug doing it and it makes you look cool, but it really just makes you a Richard Cameron.

So, you haven't yet worked out that:

1. With the new CBill tax on leveling, players will build up fewer CBills to buy new free Mechs... which is designed to encourage them to spend more real currency on Mechs; and

2. The new respecing cost of XP is also designed to encourage players to convert Mech XP to GXP?

Many people have pointed it out in so many threads.

Incidentally, I don't begrudge PGI finding alternative revenue streams - I've been encouraging them to do that for four years, because it's been obvious for that long that sooner or later whales like me would have 'enough' Mechs.
