For now anyways. Let's hope they actually take the time to iron out all of the kinks, or let the skill tree die in the flaming Hindenburg inspired ball of flame it deserves.

For now: https://images.encyc...weet_Prince.jpg

ED was a life sucking witch that deserved a house landing on it. The skill tree was just premature, and needs to be kept in the ICU until it's ready to be released.

Skill Tree can be return in future in another PTS but we don't know yet the exact date. Because it have potential and need to be more polished when on live server.

Skill Tree needs replaced, for sure.

But the one that was about to go live was a dumpster fire.

If the new skill tree gets scrapped entirely, I will have more beef with the community than with PGI.

The biggest issue I see is when the skill tree gets put into another PTS, the community will lose its **** again and the feature will not make it into the game. In truth the community has stopped any changes to the game enough times now that PGI should just give up on this game. Just make mech packs PGI and suck up money but throw all resources into MW5.

I seriously hope that doesn't happen. TBH, despite how much it would have hurt me, I'd resigned myself to it being launched on the 21st. I'll admit I felt relief for a bit when they announced it was delayed, but now? Now I'm terrified they're just gonna drop it, when just 1-2 more PTS sessions could have gotten it live-worthy.

And this is what the community has set into motion RestrosIII. and why I've been advocating PGI just push the tree out and balance it as we play it in a live enviornment... it honestly wouldn't be that hard for them to do a round, and refund us with a balance fix again if need be.

People forget, that games like WoW, do that kind of thing ALL THE TIME. Major skill changes... here's a refund, fix yo ****.

but for whatever reason, people here, in MWO, can't deal with that... they're too stuck on their special snowflake builds, with their special snowflake mechs, and their special snowflake opinions.

I'm pretty much convinced, at this point, PGI's just going to scrap the new tree... it's all ogre now. And you know what, in a way, I hope it is, because then, maybe this thing will finally burn to the ground, and they'll put Multiplayer into MW5. ANd the clanner kiddies can cry about not having their Precious Timberpooch in the next game till the expansion.

My only wishes to make it not shove me away from the game is making it so I'm not locked into never selling my mechs ever again, like it is currently. That's a lot of XP grinding I'd be screwed into performing. Everything else is fixable after implementation, even if it would be damn uncomfortable, like IS mechs getting nerfed round the board. But I really, really, REALLY hoe PGI will have a new PTS, or at least info about one, within 1-2 weeks.

Related, Christ the forums are getting salty. On both sides. Feels like a powderkeg ready to blow. Just needs a political post or something similar to get everyone going for the jugular of whoever is closest to them. I'm worried the new tech info is going to get viewed in an unreasonably harsh light because of it.

Honestly, at this point, I don't even want the time jump. I want the focus to be on this skill tree, or to tell us they're scrapping it... if they scrap it, well, they already have my 2.5k over the past 4+ years, I guess I could just walk away. *shrugs*

I'm a little torn. While the skill tree might not be all that good, it did seem like at least something of a solution to the whole quirk business.

But I guess now I'll have to contend with bs quirks even longer.

The jump is the greatest news I'd heard about MW:O in years. It got me excited for the game again in a major way, and despite PGI's history, I've actually gotten a bit hyped. Now I'm sitting here viewing 2 heavily armed groups staring each other down, with the tech advance about to step into the crossfire. If that gets cancelled, I'm actually just out. Which is a horrifying thing for me to say, since despite its flaws, I really do love this game at its base.

I'm in the same camp man, there are things I wish this game had done at the outset, that maybe... just maybe, we wouldn't be here now... for instance, if they'd taken a year at the 3025 level before introducing advanced tech would have been a great start.

if it had played out right, every 1-2 years, we could have had a time jump, introduced new tech and all, and by now, or maybe a year from now, we'd have been at the civil war. But it would have been on a strongly balanced foundation that had the initial tech level balanced out.

but instead, we've rushed forward, and literally every problem this game has seen, can be traced back to those initial, bumbling steps.

I personally, hold no love for the Stiner/Davion civil war era... I've played in that pool for too damned long with mechwarrior 4... I played that game for 10 years... it grew stale, and still feels that way in my mind.

That doesn't mean I wasn't going to stick it out, but now... with this push back on the skill tree, I just don't know man. The CORE of this game, yeah, it's solid, the shooting feels good [I'd still love to see split convergence though] The mechs feel decent, as do the weapons, sounds could use a slight rework... but if I didn't love this game, I wouldn't have dropped 2.5k and stuck it out through all of PGI's bumbles since 2nd wave of closed beta invites...

by the way, I don't think I've ever said it, but I love your diamond shark sig.

Time jump, why do it? All the new tech will just be put into a PTS and then a part of the community will ***** about it only to have it canceled. In other words don't worry about it because it wont make it into game.

May be the greatest news you heard, but it wont make it into the game. Last major change to this game was mech re-scale in June 2016.

I'm just trying to stay optimistic while most people here are dooming and glooming, again, on both sides, which is entirely wrong since I'm a pessimist. Stop making me be the voice of optimism. And I could rattle off a page worth of complaints about this game, ranging from design philosophy to basic things like goddamned colorblind support still not being in the game, but, yeah, I enjoy it on a base level, and have fun in matches.

I can't remember where I snagged the shark from at this point, which frustrates me, but the signature combo was made by Bombast. Just made it randomly one day. I loved it at first sight.
