In preparation for the launch of the new Skill Tree, I spent the past few weeks grinding all my Hero and Special Mechs up to the 72,800 XP needed to fully unlock each of their 91 Skill Nodes.

I got through quite a few of them ... even updated my Master Leveling Spreadsheet (excerpt below) to color code my progress on reaching the +20,000 XP needed beyond the previous level of 'Mastered'.

Of course, that was wasted effort* now, with the Skill Tree being completely rethought.

But oh well. It wasn't really an 'effort'. I had fun playing some old Heroes and Specials. I'm neither upset nor disappointed.

Still, it's kind of funny-sad that I took a run at those goal posts, only to again have the goal posts moved by PGI Posted Image

And let's not talk about the half-dozen modules I bought, expecting them to be refunded next week Posted Image

I went from 100+ mil down to <20 mil because I was finally saying goodbye to the module mini-game and I just stopped caring.

people seem to complain about losing progress and time they will never get back,
sadly when these Features come out on the PTS and those of us that spend 20+hours testing,
we lose that progress when such Content is put on hold in-defiantly,

I've bought I believe four separate mechs in preparation for the new Skill Tree and have been constantly working on grinding them out. (It just so happens that I love playing two of them and the other two are "okay") If the delay on the skill tree is going to be of any significance I'd seriously consider at least buying two more mechs for the two I enjoy using enough to master those in through the current skill tree we have.

I certainly had/have my concerns of the new skill tree... But I'm optimistically waiting for it to come out so I can level up the mechs I know I like, including these single variants.

I was sure that the new skill tree would be implemented soon, so I bought many CW mechs with only a single variant (cause 3 for 1 is going away). I already grinded tons of XP for them but due to skill tree delay, those mechs will have to sit in the garage with only basic skills filled. There goes my hope for something eventful in March 21st.

I forgot to mention ... yeah, I did that too.

I have a single Phoenix Hawk (urgh), a single Linebacker (yay) and a single Hunstman (mmmkay) for that reason.

In fact, I'm sitting here thinking of buying a Linebacker pack because I enjoyed leveling one of them. Buying 3 of them plus a Hero for $35 is probably a better way to get the Hero with its special 3 Energy Torso, than paying $30 for just the Hero by itself.

Yeah I had been reworking some mastered mechs initally that were below 139k, then below 72k... and I guess I will be careful with my module spending till more news now too.

Also have some single variants was going to play post 21st. And had only planned to get 1 mad iic l.... oh well

I only do want a delay/ improvement, not the death of ST! (Unlike ED). Had been expecting it to drop on the 21st . (Biggest current concerns with it were consumables and is vs clan balance, dislikes number of clicks and having nodes that your current build couldn't use).

Bought a single Mauler (recently), Ebon Jag, Nova and Maddog. Think I have enough XP on the Ebon Jag, maybe the Nova as well to master with the skill tree.

When they first announced it they were saying all spent xp would come back as gxp, so I've been skilling up and using stored mxp on mechs I know I'll never play again. Then I stopped watching the forums and played less, game here or there, and now I hear mech xp comes back as mech xp. Poop
