At this early stage first blush, all I can say is that I heartily endorse this product or service. UAC-2s and RAC-2s on my Blackjacks . . . oh my.

I'm some crazy excited for ATMs . I'll have fun with a lot of the other tech (so many rockets on a locust! Let the assault tears flow!) but those ATMs were one of my favorite tabletop weapons, being basically lrms and srms in a single package. Definitely going to enjoy those.

What you really meant was asymmetry in favor of the clans??? because asymmetry is still going to exist with this tech release....just in favor of the IS. Plus most of what the IS is getting is just what the clans already have.....

Regardless. The ATMs are gonna be good, LRMs at range, SRMs at medium range, and a super punch up close. While Large Heavy Lasers my not be ideal, the medium and small heavy laser definitely has some merit. And as a whole, clan tech is superior to IS tech. Even with IS getting the equivalent stuff to what the clans already have there is plenty of asymmetry in favor of the clans as far as range, weight, and damage.

Everything the IS is getting minus the RAC/2 and RAC/5 is still in many ways worse then clan tech. I want a longer range PPC that doesn't kill my heat? LPPC. A PPC that does equal damage to clan ERPPC? Heavy PPC....A PPC without a minimum range that doesn't drive my heat scale into shut down in a second? Snub PPC...... but they all have their draw backs that the clan ERPPC simply doesn't have. IS gets over specialized weapons while clan gets to keep its apex predator. I feel like that is a fair trade. Gauss fits this model too

MRM 40s may hurt but they are dumb fire which means that they are super up close weapons or situational at best, you'll see a lot of half missed salvos with these regardless, unless a pilot gets pretty lucky.

IS has always been about more options that trade one aspect for another. Clan tech has almost always been "Apex Predator"

The RAC is the exception. I suspect it will charge up like the Gauss, have a long cool down, and will jam if a mosquito farts from a mile away and the air vibrations from that fart hit is at the wrong angle...in the name of "balance"...plus they are heavy and hot......but yeah, they are going to change somethings for clanners and they are gonna have to be aware of them on the battlefield.

I'm excited for the new tech and think it isn't going to add the unbalanced nature of things as much as people think....

The Heavy and Light Machine Guns are from 3068, so why not put more 3068 tech in?

We'd get:

HAGS

LACS

Plasma Rifles

Machine Gun Arrays

Heavy Flamer


(Honestly I just want to see HAGS in the game.)

I'd like to see how the weapons game mechanic's and stats are going to be before I start putting down money.

Are LBX going to get ammo swap finally ?
Charge mechanic on all Gauss ?
Spin up and cool down time on rotary canon, different type of charge mechanic ?

This, and with the LFE incoming, will that allow them to update iXL to survive the loss of one side torso but with different penalty percentages, especially since the new skill tree (when it is introduced) allows Clan mechs to harden up their armor/structure.. The ballistics are still heavier than Clan versions and only a few IS mechs can actually carry more than 1 heavy ballistics with backup weapons.

Wow, salty much? The game has been heavily biased towards clans for soo long, now when they level the battlefield a bit you get upset? You should be happy that it's getting balanced, it might mean a bigger player base

I haven't peeped a word about balance or the state of the game in 5 years. Give me one paragraph out of my entire mechwarrior career to have SOME reservations about something I dont like. I probably won't make a balance peep again! Give me working ATMs(which we wont) and I'd be happier. Light PPCs only give me thoughts of more jump sniping but now with medium mechs.... And the mech choice is pretty disappointing. The cougar is FINE but hard point starved(even for an omni mech). And the Mk2? Blah, standard mech boringness. Another Marauder IIC. But fine, i shall wait for the summer.

So.. since we Have ATMs and Rocket Launchers now does that mean Swapping ammo types/having multiple ammo types is a thing now?

Also no HAGs ? IS is getting heavy and light gauss but Clans won't get their hyper assault gauss rifles really? not having RACs on the Clan side is pretty sad too since Clans actually have that Tech in 3069 albeit experimental.

Rest seems alright I do hope PGI changes improves upon that.

also just noticed no MMLs for some reason.. ;-;

Great list of new tech!

Only missing the PPC Capacitors!

was looking forward to build my new Marauder with
2x Light PPC + Capacitors
2x ML
1x Snub Nose PPC + Capacitor (Torso)

Now without the Caps, I might change it to:
2x Light PPC,
2x Snub Nose PPC
1x Heavy PPC (Torso)

or
2x SN PPC
2x ML
1x Heavy/Light Gauss

or
2x Light PPC,
2x Heavy PPC
1x SN-PPC

fire the hadron cannon !

Thanks so much PGI for bringing more to the table for a better game. This is desperately needed.

Also after reading this thread, I've determined that half the Clanners are great people....and half are just whiny that they won't have as good a 'win-button' any more. Half are interested in a good, level, challenging game, and half....are not.

Ultimately though I'm not sure this will fix things like Faction though; the 'brain-drain'-equivalent is real.

Oh wow! Very very nice. A great list and some interesting things in there too such as the ecm armour thing.

Plenty of goodies for IS and even a few interesting things for Clans such as that tactical missile launcher. Sounds like a lot of fun to use!
