Did I read it wrong or didn't they say that the javelin would be the last mech pack, that they would be going to a new model after that (in part due to the new skill tree eliminating the need for more than one mech of a chasis)?
Yet, here we are with four new mech packs......
Don't take me wrong, they all look like fine mechs that many have been begging for for years, but I thought that mech packs were going away. How does this play into loyalty rewards now....will we still be rewarded based on a certain tier of mech pack purchase?

Yeah, that's what they said previously. Since the rule of 3 for mastering was going away with the new skill tree. It's stupid.

Its basically admitting that skill tree will be pushed back a while.

I thought that they had said that, in March they would announce the new version of mech packs that would be going forward "after" March.
As in, they could put up mechs for Pre-Order under the "old" version of the system in March, and then all mech packs starting in April would be under the "new" system.

Does it really matter?

Just like the announcement of the new weapon systems - a feature that would have been THE major announcement at MECHCon, these Mech PaksTM are a desperate attempt a reviving and renewing interest in MWO. Hell just the MKII would have been the premiere announcement at MECHCon, but it wasn't even in the wind... like the weapon systems.
Sorry PGI, too little, too late. Wallet closed and locked up solid.

It's a pack designed around packs, with utility cockpit items for those that commit all the way in a themed manner.
While the packs themselves may not be new, the use of such packs in this manner is new, and thus it counts as a different way to handle mechpacks.

As stated in a previous thread the new packs resemble most the old packs. Masakari anyone?

Well ****, i expected another month not monthS.
Considering all the problems they still had with the trees, and all the associated changes they were going to try to push out after the end of PTS 3, even after all the warnings the players gave them, one month would not have been enough time to fix it all.
