You know how most 'mechs have bunches of screens all around their cockpit, that have no use other than looking cool? What if we took things like the hud - Your 'Mech's diagnostics, weapons onboard, speed, map, and that sort, and position them on the monitors? I even have some images to help show what I mean.

Would love to see something like this. Not as efficient as the helmet HUD, but dang that immersion.

There were originally plans for that, the kill counter is actually re reminant of that.
sadly, it fell through, because PGI cannot into huds.

I think you mean that they can't do cockpits...
Heads Up Display (HUD) is part of a cockpit..... Also a HUD can be placed on a helmet as well...

i think its just because cryengine is terrible at render to texture.

This is probably the real reason, here. They did the kill counter, but the others are just, for all intents and purposes, gifs. Only the counter is actually connected to the game, outside of the power on/off status. It might cause your game to chug even more than it does currently if they made all the screens functional.
That said, I'd love it if they could manage it.
