My mouse lol
My gaming mouse bit the dust last year and I don't want to send it in for repair a 2nd time
But my current mouse is the big problem
Seems button 3 does not work if button 2 is being held down or vice versa
For me boating weapons is good since I can only use two mouse buttons effectively
I would love to build my own custom mouse
this is why i ordered a hundred replacement key switches off of ebay. every time i have debounce issues i get out the soldering iron and replace it. i blame that infernal double click mechanic on the uac for ruining these things, ive replaced my keyswitch a dozen times already. its like when game designers design games they have little or no concern over the fact that a mouse button is a mechanical device and will wear out from rapid repeditive use. this is why hold mechanics are better than button spam. add to the fact that half the people who play this game are old and have arthritis. stahp.
building a mouse from scratch is an approachable objective. optical sensors are pretty easy to use, and then optical encoders (for scroll wheel) are easy too. get some chery keyswitches, the same kind good mechanical keyboards use. an arduino micro has everything you need to talk to usb, lots of people use teensy, but the chinese knockoff arduinos are cheaper. then its just a matter of casement, which is not an issue if you own a 3d printer. i could do so if i were so inclined, but anything i could build would look like a mid 80s mouse so i dont think it would be very good. i can just keep repairing this mouse i use, and when i cant another is just 12 bucks.
