Uh oh, we all know what this is. Say it with me everyone. Necropost.

But sometime necro is useful

For instance I didn0t read this post from Deathlike:"I'm pretty sure someone is shaking their fist and yelling out the letters "PGI" from some dark cave/basement."..... and my thoughts fly into a cold but funny lithuanian cave, and LOL.

pgi has the opportunity to do something original here. no other mw game let you pilot quads (without hax). pgi could be the first to do it. however they are content to play copy cat and revel in their own inflated sense of superiority, yet contributing nothing new to the franchise. buy a mechpack (of the 2 legged variety).

Someone found the security codes to access the WoC data banks to bring up a old thread?

A Necropost is still a Necropost. Doesn't matter how helpful it is, it's still a violation of the rules and should be treated as such.

The tripods don't appear in Battletech until well deep in the Dark Age era. You see it along here with an Atlas III weilding a huge RAC.

Technically there was a tripod light mech built back during the Star League, then being revived with new variants during Jihad.

Hedgehog, right?

Is it canon though?

It does get a mention in Interstellar Operations, but there are no canonical stats for the design (StarDate definitely doesn't count).

Partially. The stats and descriptions are not, but the fact that it is a Star League light mech with three legs built somewhere around the 26th century is.

I don't see any reason to open a new thread when there's an existing thread.

How to make Quads in mwo:

1. Chain two Urbies together.
2. Have a Spider stand and ride the kgcs.
3. Find two Jenners with very questionable piloting skills 'alone' in forest colony.
4. Buy and mod into HBS BT.
5. Emulate the past mw games.
6. Secretly put one into mwo as an employee with over time 'because you're on the q&a team just checking something...'
7. Find Alex at Mech con with both fistfuls of money.
8. Raid the boss' office during the night placing hundreds of quad, standard mechs and plastic men into a battle along with lego pieces so the boss man walks into fraction warfare v8.

It rises again! Honestly if pgi actually wanted to put in the effort of going through all the trouble of coding quads into MWO I 'might' stop making fun of them so much.....maybe....it could happen....

Even without torso twisting i'd play one (Though in MWO they would have to resort to either running around doing straffing passes , hill humping, or standing still and turning on the spot to track people if they lacked jump jets to rotate in the air with.) Snow Fox along would be worth it but i'd even play the much slower reseen goliath. (Also with no twisting, can you say Light snack?)
