So I bought the MAD IIC Scorch last night as it seems like a pretty great Mech. (I do own the other variants and have a lot of fun with them) I am running it with Dual AC20 and 4 x SRM 6 Standard. I am not sure if it is because it is not even basic'd out yet but I found it to be a bit sloggy. I am thinking of going for Dual AC10 and upgrade the engine. Anyone else running a scorch and recommend a solid build. I really want to become a brawler as its the only thing I lack in within the game play. Any advice.

2xLBX20 + 4xASRM6 is standard build. If you find it slow then use 2x LBX10 instead.

Sorry , I meant to say it was Dual LBX 20 , Slip of the fingers.

I may give the LBX 10 a go. Is the Artemis really worth it on SRM's ?

Yes, Artemis is very much needed with SRM6.

Lbx10s are also a lot more heat efficient than lbx20 which helps if your mech is not elited.

I know this sounds like a silly question , but to be honest never really noticed it before , but it there a big difference between Basic and Elite'd? , apart form the speed tweak. A difference that I would notice in a big way. It usually takes me a day to Elite a mech and this is really my first assault mech as normally a light pilot and they are normally quite nimble anyway.

You get better heat reduction and more heat capacity, which is noticeable after eliting the mech, compared to other minor mobility bonus.

Dual LBX20 / Quad SRM4A is what you should be running.

Allows enough ammo and speed for 1k dmg.

Here is the one posted at metamechs.com. It uses LB10Xs and ASRM4s. Presumably the fastest moving build. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2f4cf6201de5e40

It does have very low rear armor for a brawler. You might wanna have a bit more armor in the back.

Thanks guys , will give them a go. I guess the rear armor is a problem at the moment , given the mass amount of Locust I see running around.

Thanks again,

If you can aim, one shot and locust is dead. Hence faster cXL in the build I linked, let's you do everything better I wouldn't worry about a locust at all.

There is also the dual Gauss build (plus 4 xASRM and 2ML if you need a backup weapon).

Also I struggle to see the real diff between AC20 and LBX 20 , Ok I know the LBX is a shotgun , but is it superior to the AC20?

Against a normal clan AC20, yes. No burst firing and the most important thing, no ghost heat by firing two of them. Your goal in a brawl should be fire all weapons at once and instantly twist away your most damaged parts of your mech.

@NZT Limitless 2 x lb20x doesnt produce ghot heat uac 20 does
if you fear about ash rear armor then dont check mine it only has 1 from light to assualt :)

MAD-IIC-SC (2 x cGAUS, 2 x cERPPC, XL325)
I am surprised nobody mentioned this one.
MAD-IIC-SC (2 x cLBx20, 4 x cSRM6+A, XL325)
It looks very hot might have to trade ammo/engine/armor for heatsink.
MAD-IIC-SC (2 x cLBx10, 2 x 4 cSRM4+A, XL350)
dunno why i made this one :P but it looks legit
