Why? Because it feels silly to help a light mech backstabbing enemy lines and turns out he is running 2 machine guns and 2 lrm 5.
If I knew he was running a crap build, I would not have assisted and died.
Lame.

I'd like to see this too, as well as when I mouse on a mech (friendly) or target enemy, I'd like to see his speed displayed.

This is like kill counts on conquest: Way too obvious to be possible.

Then I never get any support ever because I run lore builds. RIP.

If you want "role warfare" to work better with PUG teams (particularly in the solo queue), having an idea what your teammate can and cannot do by their loadout gives a better idea on what you should do (even if your teammate is clueless).

I also like this idea. Sucks on a QP when you take an advantageous position and expect direct support but your teams is 10 LRM builds and hiding 300M behind you.

unfortunately if you see mechs heavier than you hanging back, you can expect LRM's

same id I see a mad dog, probably LRM and I bum rush it. me and an arctic cheater killed a mad dog no problem doing that

Add an option to see teammate's loadout?

Whaaaat? I have never, ever, in all my time here ever heard of such a ridiculous notion. Like ever.

Yes, it has been posted before. It deserves being posted again, until they do it. My thinking is you should not automatically get the enemy loadout. Maybe see the enemy mech default loadout and have special tech to get their real loadout, like BAP or ECM?

I can't tell you how often I have the impulse to select a team mate like in MW4.

I'm not sure that's such a good idea.
Pretty sure I'll get yelled at every other match by someone who thinks my loadout sucks and that I should uninstall and go kill myself.

well, the enemy can still do that. So why not teammates?

However, after what, 5 years now I think we won't get this ever. And to be true, it is not *that* important... I never missed that. You don't have time to care about other loadouts. You should be fighting, not inspecting.

Got to disagree here, when match starts, sure you should be taking position, etc, but when match is half through, how can you tell if that Atlas near you is cored or have its damages spread across all sections? Or what weapons he has left? Talking takes a lot longer than pressing a key.

But as some pointed out, this is a feature others and i have begged for since Open Beta, but some players don't want it, usually because they're afraid you could get locked by teammates during battles. Ofc, none of them can even think about binding that "friendly lock" to another key than "enemy lock" (like in MW4), but still, 5 years later, this remains a missing feature...

I actually want this as well.
Well, I WOULD like that ability to judge my team mates before combat, if it weren't for the dire consequences. You're supposed to trust your teammate untill you're dead. It's for exactly the same reason that you can't see player tiers either. PGI has a very strict view on this.

Can I like both yours posts?
Hm. I guess I'll just do it.

Are you aware that you can just go look at the mech and see what it is carrying? When in a light I do this all of the time to see if the Atlas, King Crabs or Spirit Bears are carrying lurms. If they are I won't bother protecting them. Sensible or things like Archers or Mad Dogs I will look out for though.

I believe this is as close to an ally loadout read, we will ever have.
It mostly applies to lights, who are quick enough to get a look of the front of of your allies.

Ignoring the vengeful reason, I also like to see teammate's loadouts. Makes no sense that information sharing share less info about your own team than your enemies.

But in truth, it's curiosity sometimes. See what ideas other people have compare to mine, and if there's an effective build, I don't want to die to see what it is.

Also, it would be fun to spectate proton and the elite players and see how and what they are using that's so effective.

are you aware that its re tarded that you have to do that?

when you bring up the map overlay it should just show the status of all your teams mechs and their loadouts. it should be right there off to the side of the map. you should also be able to target friendly mechs the same way you can target enemy mechs, like shift-r would cycle through all friendly mechs similar to how r cycles through all enemy mechs. it makes no sense why that information would be obfuscated from you.

also instead of all your teammates being the same blue color they need to give each lance a different color so you can instantly see where your lancemates are. that would help a lot when playing with friends because you could see where your friends are.

kill counts on conquest would be nice too, since thats the most common win condition in conquest...
