I'm noticing that my Assassin is losing a leg in almost every match. Yes, I've boosted the armor to 40 which is 2 less than what I have on my Enforcer. An Enforcer which almost never has the legs destroyed.

Seems like there is some kind of bug causing extra damage to the legs or not registering additional armor.

Be sure to feather your jumps. Also, jumping around means most of the enemy fire intended for your torsi will hit the legs instead. Sometimes, not jumping is the right way.

I'm not jumping anymore than I do in my Enforcer. When I do jump I'm getting more height, but I'm rarely taking fire when I do that.

This is something else.

That's weird, since the Assassin also has +8 armor quirk to legs. Perhaps PGI accidentally made it -8? Wouldn't put it past them.

With its speed and tonnage, the Assassin is basically a light mech.

Light mechs tend to get legged. A lot.

Yep if you have issues shooting a fast moving target, then leg it.

It wont be fast moving after that.

Having gunned down a few today, I'll submit that the legs were very easy to target when the mech is in mid-jump. Those legs are kinda big in comparison to the rest of the mech. Especially from a side profile. The worst of it happens due to the usual small delay for movement once more when the mech lands, meaning, if my weapon cooldowns are only moderate, I've had the ability to hammer the leg once during the jump and a second time during the delay before the mech can get back up to speed.

Use the jets for a necessary maneuver only - if you use them when you suspect you're going to come under fire, well, you've been warned.

No one bothers with the legs on an Enforcer, your legs are being targeted as they are perceived as vulnerable

sounds a bit like what I ran into with the Summoner originally. Legs are pretty large part of the mech, and easily defined hitboxes. And if you're going ot float thru the sky... nomnom

An enforcer isn't fast moving.

it may not be a matter of what you are doing compared to what other players are doing

I pilot the Enforcer as well, and hardly get legged.
Most likely because it is relatively slow with a top speed of 110ish kph, and it has a big shot-me breast plate that get highlighted when you apply most camo.

Didn't own an Assassin, but have been shooting them alot.
Their torso seem to have good hitbox like a spider, difficult to focus on a torso.
Their legs are easier target.

Assassins are just leggy mechs, kind of like the Phoenix Hawk. That thing will usually end up getting legged almost as often as it gets hit in the torso. Whenever I play the PHX I try to fight near crests and ridges that will let me mostly protect my legs.

Dont see many jumping enforcers, but as mentioned I view the assassin more as a light mech than a medium mech and aim for the legs, and I see many others following suit. Of course there will be those who will aim for the torso area just as they do with lights, and if one on one tend to fail more often than not.

It's a 40 ton, fast mech. Of course people are going to leg it. Enforcers are not 40 ton, fast mechs but rather they are moderately quick gun platforms, and gun platforms are easier to kill by shooting torsos.
