Support the MWO community
Offer feed back on the new game mode
Play Mechwarrior online
Things I do:
Wait for a match in the PTS
Please incentivize the PTS, I will only spent 10 min waiting for a match. Then I leave go to the main server and actually play. I want to help but you guys are not doing yourselves any favors running this while the lucky charms event is on. Seriously PGI, I don't pretend to know a lot about game releases but this just seems like setting yourself up for failure on purpose.

Their is already an incentive to play the PTS. It's called improving the gamemode that you will see in the game in the future.

yes, look under "things I want to do", however not many others do or I would have matches.
So clearly the incentive you suggest is not working... correct? How would one change that?

Sure, the new tech coming summer is okay change but it won't excite me much.

I didn't suggest an incentive.....
I can't change anything. It's up to people to realize that testing things is an important part of the process

Look at all of the people lining up to install another copy of the game, log in, and test without earning C-Bills, XP, or any other rewards. Look at all those people who are being rewarded by having a hand in improving the gamemode that we will see in the future! Look at them. It's so easy to get matches!

That has always been so with different PTS. But, not all are equal in popularity.

Based on the setup, it's possible to predict player behavior in general:
1) you'll either get a few lights going after powercells, or no one.
2) your team will either sit and snipe, or deathball at the powercells - to slaughter any lights going after them.
3) If they kill lights, they'll have a number advantage, and push the base. Or else, they'll just push the base.
4) If you manage to get power cells, no one will want to leave the base - they'll want to ride out the advantage.
5) if your team loses a few going after power cells, they'll want to sit in the base because they're at a disadvantage.
Basically, without respawn, there is no point going after any of the objectives. Numbers are the advantage, and an early disparity results in snow balling. This mode is fine for QP and FP (even with 'infinite' respawn) as long as you take out skirmish win condition - timer or else objective. Otherwise, it's just skirmish. Nothing new you add will matter.
With respawns, drop decks become a sort of role-adaptation, allowing you to switch/eject to a different role type depending on conditions (with a timer penalty). You are finally adding different roles to different weight classes and mech types.
As noted, the Dropship support doesn't really do anything... it's defensive, but requires you to be absent to activate it... when you MOST need to be present. Change that to respawn times (defensive and offensive component, good risk vs. reward for power cells).
Jammer is conceptually good, but it, basically, is also a defensive boon... this encourages hiding in your base and your half of the map, and not pushing. If you changed it to increase sensor range, or give 360 tracking, or something, that would have a defensive and offensive component.
Sweep is the only boon that already has a defensive and offensive component. No surprise it is the only worthwhile boon.
If we're going to do something new, let's go and do something NEW. Let's not rehash old elements like skirmish and scouting intel (like escort). Let's do the fuel cells, let's do the boon towers, the destructible elements, let's ADD respawn, let's REMOVE skirmish.
If all we do is rearrange the old, players will figure out, and rearrange their old ways of doing the same thing - total wash, it's the same.

And its up to PGI to realise that too and incentivize it.

Already spent several hours on the PTS myself and provided my feedback. But then again, my life is almost entirely comprised of free time at the moment and I'm generally a very patient person, so that might explain why I was one of the few. So where are the rest? Maybe ... they have something better to do with their time.

Raising hand.
- Give the Towers some actual meaning (maybe a win condition, i.e.they produce resources and you win with 1000 resources)
- spread the generators across the map
