Hey Folks,
The last several weeks, I have been fighting in my Dire Wolf Prime. ELITE status and quirked out to my satisfaction. While I still have some room to advance it some, I do like fighting in this mech the most. My current setup is 2 ERPPC, 2 Clan AC/10's. Armored up as much as possible with enough Double heat sinks for a decent job. Still runs around 52 kmph and wish I could more under this setup. I'll post a smurfy linky later.

I l8ke brawling and long range shooting just because in real life I have done some rifle target shooting many times so, what's yours and why?

Good lord, man!

That is not how one Whales!

You want one whale with 2UAC10+3UAC5. Get in position, mow down enemies at @500m

2Gauss, 2LPL, 3-4ERML.

4LBX10

5UAC5, gun them at 600m

6UAC6 if you bought the Ultraviolence.
8UAC2 if you bought Ultraviolence.

If you prefer ERPPC: 2ERPPC+2Gauss.

While I did say I like to shoot long range, it does not mean I do this all the time. I should have said initially I do this, but I always stick with the group and rightly so! Anyone knows if you go out on your own, your a big fat target for lights and Mediums. Posted Image

Pffft. I've said it, and I'll say it again. The best Dire Wolf loadout is the Prime's lore build.

Trying to tell me, the lord of gifs, what to do by using a gif.

But really, if you own a Dire Wolf Prime, you seriously need to try and run the lore build once in your life. At least in a private match. It's so incredibly difficult. Bonus points if you do it with completely stock settings, with quirks and skills turned off.

Does MWLL count? It's one of the few that actually has the actual lore loadout. =P

Only a 40 point alpha? That isn't all PP? You are woefully under gunned.

DWF-PRIME This is the build on metamechs.com
DWF-PRIME This is the same build but without the UV arm in case you haven't bought the UV yet.

Here are some examples with 2xGauss:
Gauss erPPCSaw this build some time ago and thought it would be nice. All your weapons are on one side so you can use the other side as a shield. This build works just as well with a Gauss in each arm and the PPC in the other shoulder.

My MPL DWF This is a build I use on my W, you can spread those lasers between the two sides, I just use one side as a shield.

DWF-W(C) This is the champion build. Nothing at all wrong with it.

UAC5/UAC10 and smalls
This is one of my loadouts, except I have the lasers in the middle points.

This is how I figure your weapons look, since you haven't posted the smurfy yet.
Example of your build With just those 4 weapons you have 12 tons to play with if you take a 1/2ton off each arm and a whole ton off each leg. That just begs for more weapons.

Marauder IICs in general have been my strongest chassis. I do bad to "above average" in pretty much everything else in general.

My best 'mech is (or feels to be) the MAD-IIC-D with 2x LB10X, 2x ASRM6 and either 1x ERPPC or 1x LPL.

As for Dires, I have the most success with a 4x UAC5, 8x SPL build. Not the best build in the world, but I make it work.

MAD-IIC-D

This is the meta build for the MAD-IiC-D

I am not to fond of it but there really isn't anything else you can do with it. 2x ASRM6s isn't much damage.

I'm undecided as to which of my Awesome (8Q) is better: my 3 PPC/3ML build with command console, or the wub build with 4 MPL and 3 LPL. They both do pretty well for me, all things considered.

I'd drop that if I were you. The CC is pretty much worthless.

My best clan mech is the KDK-3 2UAC5 2UAC10 + 4 erML (long before the champion came out) is my best performer. It is faster than my Dakka DWF and I'm not too fond of Gauss but the second place for my mechs would be the Dual Gauss+5MPL DWF that I run all the time.

I went from Tier 3 to Tier 2 and almost a half in just my KDK-3. The difference was literally the 13KPH faster from the cXL 375. I can keep up with most nascar which was a huge struggle in my DWF. I've earned almost 500,000 XP on it.

I was planning on getting the ANH but when I saw that it can't go faster than 52KPH (48.6) I felt my heart sink. Engine caps for the sake of lore bum me out.

My best IS mech is the AS7-S with 4 MPL 4 ASRM6 and an AC20.

There is only one mech I've stuck one in, and that was an srm/MPL marauder, for 100% target acquisition speed. Instant damage readout on an enemy is fun, if gimmicky, and I only took it because that particular setup hits one of those weird tonnage/slot dilemmas and engine ratings start jumping up 1-1.5 tons

CC is totally useless in every other regard

Locust 3M/1E/1M/3S

When it's time for srs, I bring one of those out.

I think that when I first put the CC in, it was a combination of trying to get the longest sensor range possible, and using it like a targeting computer. The wub build has been giving me an alternate perspective though; and I probably won't be going back to the CC even if I go back to the PPCs. (A lot easier on the refit between the two builds anyway.)

Best mech? Not sure how to answer that. I take the spirit of the OP to be more along the lines of "this is the mech I like playing atm and here is why" as opposed to "this is my best performing mech statistically and here is my theory as to why that is". I'll answer both ways:

Best -as in favorite to play: any "fast heavy" preferably with JJ. The Tankier the better. My IV-4s or Cataphract 3D are tops here. Just love em. The decent speed, JJ and most importantly, all that extra armor let me survive to get in close (usually), though I can engage from decent range if I have to if the terrain doesn't get in the way. And that leads to the drawbacks: the gorilla arm mounts but you learn to compensate for that. TBolt 9SE ranks up there as well, the other Quickies, Jester, etc.

Best -as in an objective comparison of statistical performance- throwing out the outliers that I haven't played in a long time or only ever played a few times, then my "best" mech overall is apparently any Black Knight. Any of em, but the 7L edges out the others. That is actually pretty surprising to me. Though I really like the way the BK's look, I have never particularly enjoyed playing them.

2Gauss+2ERPPCs is best done on the Bear due to the XL400 and high mounted Gauss.

That leaves the Whale with much Dakka.
