At what voltages?

I could only get mine to 4.05 stable while staying under the "recommended" voltages using a AIO cooler.

1,392v
I can bring mine up to 4,2ghz stable but i have to trespass far beyond 1,4v.
4,05ghz is fairly decent too, i'd personally not yolo it beyond the 1,4vcore on a longterm basis.

I run 1.461v - 1.482v on my 1600x @ 4.1 ... with SMT off, under a basic (small) AIO .... I never expected this CPU to last forever ....

There's also a weird bug in the portal if you leave it running too long, the heat sink bar behaves slowly and your fps can drop ridiculously low. Restart the client and everything back to normal.

Interesting, mine is at 1.352V at 4040.36

I can go higher, but I see no point yet. I can't buy anything else currently, so really pushing this one makes no sense for me.

I did learn the hard way not to buy cheap(er) ram. Man was that a PITA to get it running at/above speed. Hindsight says I should have bought something else, but $50 cheaper(open box) is nothing to sneeze at when buying 2x8G sticks.

yeah, I picked the X model for the higher TDP ... because I was always going to push it ... if its 'dead on arrival', you'll pretty much always get a replacement ... that you should not push on as hard ...

but my board uses 1.5v for 'safe mode' ( booting into bios ), and ive seen it push 1.55v with XFR to push cores out past 3.8ghz ... so even though that AMD guy said 1.45v ... way back at release ... I'm thinking 1.55v is the very edge of safety .... just did a bios update to a pre beta yesterday .... this ones been less friendly than expected ...
