While I applaud PGI's attempt to make MechWarrior Online a better game, I think that Incursion Mode would be best if it were only in Faction Play. In Solo Que people are looking for quick and easy games where you can just go and destroy enemy Mechs. Incursion Mode would be better served being restricted to Faction Play games where there are groups who would enjoy its complexities.

the maps would have to be the larger ones,
FP players are more organized , were the objective and skirmish part will happen very quickly in smaller maps, there are enough complaints about spawn camping, and that's all what's going to happen, if the maps are small

In that case you can drop Domination, Escort, etc. all together and just have skirmish. MWO needs something beside skirmish and yes that means something more complex then running in a straight line to your death...a reason why I play less and less MWO as everything just comes down to skirmish and FW has so freaking long waitimes that its a waste of time.

It's skirmish. How is that complex?

I think the game mode is pretty straight forward after one or two matches. Kill the other team and/or kill their base. Power ups can be picked up in the middle and returned to power up your base.
Perhaps they just need to do a better job of explaining the rules.

For a game that refers to itself as the "thinking mans shooter" it is amazing how adverse its players are to doing any type of thinking.
The objective may be complicated for anyone that normally only plays first person shooters but anyone who has ever played a MMO or RPG would find them to be pretty simplistic. If you read the loading screen information and play one or two games then it should be easy to figure out how the mode works.

Even most "normal" FPS shooters these days have modes as complex or better then MWO has.

I play this game over others because it is so simple. It is a 10 minute rush and than another one.
It took me all the way to my 2nd match of this before I understood it.
I like them adding new games. If they want to not make them all "skirmish" , they need to change what you get XP for. For instance, this morning I have two examples. One in Assault where we took their base with hardly a shot fired. It was a "win" but none of us even got more than a match score of 40-50. During this event, we have even NOT taken their base so we could get some damage done, we did not care so much about winning the match.
The other was a Domination where a combo of the other team being so slow and us being fast and we won with almost no XP at all.
Make the objectives WORTH something and it will change this game.
