Artist just used the Primitive Wasp as a stand-in it seems, seriously doubt its intended by PGI or HBS to be their Wasp.

The new CGL redesign of the Wasp is the BEST Wasp design ever.
(I absolutely love pretty much all of the CGL redesigns... Except the Wolverine, because it lost the chin-turret).

Doesn't do a thing for me, the old gundam still remains King. This is just a small Griffin with the LRM 10 removed, in it's favour, it has at least kept the flared out legs

Let's hope not, the artwork is fantastic, I wish I had half the skills, but just no.

Have you bought the Combat Manual: Kurita yet there Bishop? The Mini-TRO gives a much, much better look at the new classic styled Wasp.

I have it. Still not wild over it (the First Succession War book has the Wasp in it to, IIRC), but better than the Phoenix Versions.

I hope they get around to modelling the Wasp. It'd make a lot of sense for MW5:M for lore flavour, and also for providing the low end for the range of 'mechs you encounter in the PvE campaigns.

I dislike that MWO is basically a heavy-medium to assault 'mech affair, though it's kind of inevitable because the setting is a 'mech-vs-'mech arena deathmatch. But in MW:M they could explore the full range of combat assets from infantry, light vehicles, and tanks, all the way to 'mechs ... and I hope they will.

In MWO I expect they'll suffer, though I'm sure a great light jock could make the WSP-1W work. The volumetric rescale really helped 20 tonners at least.

As far as the Stinger -- it'll suck even more than the Wasp in MWO. But then it's basically a head swap, so if you do the Wasp, little sense in not modelling the Stinger too. And again it'd greatly enrich MW:M (and HBS BT).

Which version of the Wasp though? The WSP-1W used by the Wolf's Dragoons would be a lot like the SL/SPL Firestarter, and that thing was a mean little mech for a long time before that up sizing in the grand volumetric rescaling.

In general. Especially the base variant--WSP-1A.

HBS confirmed Wasp way back in the Kickstarter.....so that means it is in the works somewhere. I have said it before, PGI you want my money? Wasp, Firemoth. That is all.
