Opened 16 supply crates that had built up since my last MC had run out and got almost nothing of any consequence, some 14 weapons varying from about 50k-200k in value, 1 day premium time and radar deprivation, which I guess will be nice in refunded XP or c-bills if/when that happens.

Ah well. Feels better after griping a little here.

I recently had about 32 of the buggers, I almost opened them with MC until I remembered my previous "luck" with them. Sold them for cbills.

Seems crates needs a C-bill auction system for the players Posted Image

Some people have MC when others need c-bills, some players have all the potential in one crate, others do not etc, could make it a bit more fun.

The crates are useless and offer nothing of value, other than the c-bills they could be sold for. If crates had nothing but cockpit items for instance, and you were guaranteed to get one, why not? As it stands now, its better to save your MC for camo and stuffs, IMHO.

I'm not sure PGI gets how the whole gamble-boxes thing works. Generally people will pay to gamble on things they can't easily get through MC or C-Bill purchases. Unique patterns, unique mechs, hero mechs, a C-Bill or EXP cockpit item, things like that. I'm not going to drop MC to open crates and win mostly duplicate weapons, small amounts of C-Bills or GXP.

I think more people should be aware that crates are mostly C-bill boosters. Except you have to take the time to sell the equipment you win, if you want the c-bills. It's like Premium Time Plus, in a sense. You pay more MC to get more C-bills. No XP though.

The odds of winning something that actually costs MC is incredibly slim.

Dude, I have opened 25 and never got anything anywhere near as valuable as radar deprivation.

In fact, I only open crates if there's a chance of getting radar deprivation or seismic.

I would LOVE to have got a radar deprivation.

So: count your blessings!

PS: I also have 250 redemptions in Pot of Gold but no BNC :(

Yup. I only open them when I win keys, or once in a while when I have an odd 25 mc laying around from an event, and then only if the worst item in the thing is worth at least 200k resale.

There are people still gambling against the bank? Seriously?

I actually only kept ones that were decent enough to gamble for, the first 6 or so i opened had keys and/or MC reward potentials that didn't pay off so I took the chances on the better looking crates I had, it seems even when there is only one chance out of 6 of getting a small laser, I get the small laser 6 times in a row Posted Image

Only with MC gained through events (If I don't use them on mechbays or other).

I would definitely vote to remove the weapons from them if given the option at the very least, the engines and support items are all decent rewards, but rolling through 2 cool aesthetic items, an engine, a new mech, 5000 gxp but landing on an ac5 instead really hits that "f this mess" button, I get it.

They are complete garbage, like you, I was sucked into spending real money.

Funny enough, the loot caches from the current event are way better.

Slightly off-topic, but any word on what's going to happen with all the modules in unopened caches when modules go away?

Sigh, well it was a nice idea, but I guess an extra 50k cbills every 12 or so matches is still better than nothing :\

Crates are rubbish.

The percentages of anything other than a common item coming up are so weak, they should be used only as a c-bill booster, or when you have a 'spare' 25 MC sitting around doing nothing.

It just a bit funny that with respect to these crates that PGI seems to hang onto the digital content within like it was real stuff.

They could increase the possibility of winning camo, paints, and other MC valued materials to the point that people feel it's worthwhile to open them, spending money, because of a great opportunity to get something they value, but they don't.

They are digitally tight-fisted.

Click "skip spinning" and if you hit the exact center of the box under the arrow flipper...that's what you get. If you miss the exact center, its the next box after, or the one on the exact opposite side of the wheel.

As to contents... this is a post of mine from march 27th copied from the other LONGER cache opening thread where I now will be posting the contents of each batch I open...

Latest batch opening of 11 crates...I did a dozen last week and got a mech bay and a bear tooth hanging item as the highlights. Started this batch with another mech bay but #8 was a nicer one.

#1 Mech bay
#2 NVA-B Right torso
#3 Small Laser x 2
#4 C-ER-PPC
#5 250,000 C-bills
#6 100,000 C-bills
#7 Medium Pulse laser x 2
#8 Radar Deprivation Module
#9 SRM6 x 4
#10 NVA-A Right arm
#11 100,000 C-bills

So...2 rares, 1 uncommon, 8 commons. Cost to open 275MC of keys... MC value of the mech bay 300... so I'm ahead 25MC right there. The module is worth 6 million refund. 450k in cbills. The nova pods would normally cost 229,465 each and are useful as I do own novas. The PPC costs 600k. The other weapons cost a combined 925k and they're all ones I do use quite regularly in builds. No mechs though again and five of the caches had the mech teaser.
