Concur. Or at least limit to one incidence akin to MRBC in each drop (alto to be fair, I'd prefer a straight up no dup rule).

I think that was me that poked him about it... and if I remember, it sounded like Paul didn't understand what I was asking, and it was the end of the stream, and he was leaving. >.<

Yeah that would be really good actually.
Also, like the no duplicates or one duplicate rule.
Did they actually come out and say that pre-order mechs and hero mechs were a no-go? That is kind of a drag isn't it? Always like making my teammates jelly with new shineys (more often than not its "haha you sucker Gas, that new mech blows").

Correct, which I have always supported and actually one of the reasons I'm really glad Mag asked it.
Sure it is disappointing you can't use new shinies, but so is not being able to use said shinies for comp because you don't want to shell out the cash.

Unless this is a multi-drop campain (for example, best 2 out of 3) with the no-duplicate rule being applied across all the matches, there is not much gain.

If you want to see more variety you need to get more creative than that. I think Star League's drop rules have been great for allowing weird stuff see serious play and giving asymmetric decks the chance to play off against each other. How you'd make something comparable for 8v8 I have no idea.

Variants / Chassis can only be used 'X' number of times within a series of drops. After which you'll have to use another mech.
Or, something along the lines of League of Legends' Champion bannings.

'Mech X gets destroyed in Round 1, cannot be taken for Round 2.

No. That just favours snowballing. If the underdog had a chance to win a series, but they lost the first match, now they can't bring their best mechs to the second match and win the upset. ggclose
