If your fresh locust gets taken down by a cored CT streak boat MAD IIC, and you claim said MAD player has no skill, what does that say about you?

sounds like a potato fight.

Streaks are more of a deterrent tool than a light killing weapon. Sure, they're effective on lights, if they don't lock on first and engage you, but any competent light pilot will lock on, see streaks maybe shoot you in the butt and skedaddle.

That said, I have a pair of streak SRM4s with a ton of ammo (why would you need more?) and a pair of gauss rifles, on my MAD-IIC-D; any mech I track with the gauss also gets tracked by a streak lock. I think it's the only setup I've found s-SRMs to be useful against more than some idiot in a light mech, as I chose streaks over SRMS for the extra range- I tend not to enjoy facehugging in my marauders, or getting within 270m with cERLL

I bought the IIC pack when it was first announced (TBR's and MAD's are the only reason I play this game) and was peeved that the D variant was included...I was hoping the A would be my dual gauss holster. Was let down. Oh well. How many tons of Gauss ammo can you carry with the D?

Adequate for solo play

More reasonable to run it like that in group queue, where the speed is necessary to keep pace with larger groups in faster mechs because of tonnage restrictions, and with minimal face time weapons, as the general skill of players in groups goes up and fights are more aggressive

Although in group queue, it may be wiser to just take a different clam marauder altogether

Neat! I know it's a pretty hack build but I have a two-gauss TBR that I absolutely love. The D looks like a pretty comparable setup.

Out of curiosity...why stack half tons of ammo?

I think it's funny that people refer to Streaks and LRMs as "no skill weapons" yet they are considered sub-par due to a lack of effectiveness. If you are highly effective with LRMs or Streaks, you are laughed at for leaning on a crutch weapon.

So, it is impossible to be a good player with LRMs or Streaks because if you do well, it's because the weapon is easy to use... and if you do poorly, it's because the weapon is too hard to use effectively and you should not being such a bad weapon.

Crit padding, to help protect vital components when the armor is gone

It only works with gauss ammo, as it does not explode
