Personally I really like the Clan & IS getting their own mechs and I believe PGI has said this is the route they're going.
Another thing to consider is Russ made his 6 month plan back in Jan. so it's unlikely Gas's poll influenced this upcoming announcement but rather CK16's would be the most informative for this. Now that doesn't make it the final word but it does have a degree of influence in Russ's decision.
https://mwomercs.com...mechs-for-2017/
Looking at the poll, the Stinger/Wasp has the next most votes after the already announced Uziel & Annihilator followed by the Crusader, Sunder and Nightstar respectively. (You should note people voted in this poll after Russ had already made his plan so the numbers have changed a little but positions haven't)
Now historically PGI has been kind of squeamish about light packs as they seem to either sell less or have less perceived value (despite costing the same to make). Personally I'd say the IS has other needs as no new light will be of much value against the Clans over what we have or are getting. But lights are still the least represented class and the Stinger/Wasp are unseen that did well in the poll. A fair possibility here
Next up is the Crusader. The Roughneck is almost here and is a 65t heavy so idk if this is the best time to announce yet another 65 tonner. A heavy could be a good fit here but I'd consider a different weight within the class.
The Sunder, I think we may very well get this mech. Yes it's an assault mech but it's very different from the Anni and would reinforce the second least represented weight class as well as offering the IS an Omnimech for the first time.
The Nightstar is my most desired mech but I'm doubtful it'll make the cut for this announcement unless PGI wants to hold off on IS Omnis and doesn't want to do a 65 tonner as another IS released, etc. Not only would it reinforce the assault class with a strong mech, it'd be a second 95 tonner for the IS along with the Banshee.
Clanners are getting the MK2 & Couger which were also on the poll but actually, Clanners voted for the Fire Moth above all others. Sadly Russ confirmed it still has speed issues so I'd say it's out of the running.
The Whammy IIC has the next most votes, even over the Mad Cat MK2. It'd be a powerful 80 tonner, easily replacing the lackluster Gargles. Main question is would PGI want to announce yet another assault mech after the saturation we've been getting.
The top voted heavy for the Clans was the Novacat, both in CK's and Gas's polls. I think this will be the Clan mech announced. It's very popular and powerful. Also it'd expand the 70 ton slot for the Clans.
Then there is the Stone Rhino. Similar situation with the Whammy IIC. It's a strong assault and different from the MK2 but of course would PGI want to do yet another?
In last place for the Clans is the Rifleman IIC. Clan version of an unseen and it has it's fans. If not the Novacat or some darkhorse, I think this is a likely option.
What do you guys think? Also if you haven't yet don't forget to vote in Gas's mech poll: https://mwomercs.com...mech-pack-poll/
I'd like to ask the map guys or anyone else to not derail this thread. If you want to talk about those things please make a thread for them. I too want maps and other things but that's not what this thread is about.

If anything, we should be getting a Clan heros pack this week or next, and that will likely release in August. Then MAYBE we will get another mech pack announcement, though that would mean they have upped their chassis release rate, which would be cool.
Still have my bets on the following pack next:
Osiris
Thanatos
Black Lanner (go CJF! wish it was a better mech buuut whatever)
Nova Cat

True, it's just PGI seems to like to always have something on pre-order.

They didn't announce it on April 1st because it would've been too obvious.
Just you wait!

Yeah, I mean I can't complain about that, but CK's poll was just so limited with only a few mechs per weight class. Either way, we'll see what happens.

Actually I'm not so sure. Dual heavy PPC and UAC10 could be pretty solid at 70 kph with good mounts (cockpit heavy PPCs, slightly lower UAC10).

Well he made it in January. He never specified what was in it. As far as we know it covers every mech announcement until June as that is the 6th month. Or if the Javelin was the last mech of the previous plan then July would be the last month covered.

Well CK's poll isn't the end all be all. Paul in your thread said it's value is confirming what the playerbase wants although they sometimes can't do what the poll says. The Fire Moth for example is too fast so despite it's popularity it's not happening anytime soon.

Ehhh if we don't get a mech announcement until June or July as I suspect, then that means his 6 month plan is done (aside from the Clan heros pack). Because Civil War was a four mech pack, we probably won't get another chassis release until like October at the earliest, which would put the next announcement in June or July (6 months from Jan). I could be wrong, I just have a strong feeling that is what is going on.

So no announcement in April?
The roadmap released in January says we should see a pack of Clan heros announced in April.

What exactly are you basing this list on? Some of these mechs aren't on polls or haven't done well or there's mechs that have placed higher.

Well it seems to me the Javelin was from the previous plan and so we've got April, May, June and even July that we can speculate on.
I'd bet on the Clan heroes being announced on the 30th so as you say June/July might be the last or not. It's hard to say but that's why we're speculating.

Agreed, though I feel a big pack same month they release a big pack might be more likely and we get say a mech in May and June or even two mechs in May and June (as in 2 mechs each month) might happen to fill out the ranks of mechs with the "explosion" of tech for the civil war update. I just see June more likely we get another 4 mech pack instead of July due to a lot of PGI expecting people seeing the 4 new mechs on the field and going back and buying those and not wanting to hamper sales of whatever pack(s) they put for preorder that month and put a single or double pack out instead.
