This means you get 6 total torso lasers when you use the Prime LT and the Alternate A head.

But I won't need to buy the hero to get the hero omni pods or do I?

Perhaps. Maybe the solution to get actual content would be for someone to purchase the Rights to Mechwarrior from Microsoft, then have actual oversight on what PGI is doing.

Well the only way that happens is they turn off the forums, and ignore the reddit threads, because until they do there will continue to be a vocal minority complaining about whatever efforts they make, and ruining it for everyone else. Because clearly trying to appease an ever toxic player base hasn't been working out for them in the long run.

New mechs are a relatively simple thing to reliably crank out, and probably constitutes the bulk of their income. Of course they're going to release new mechs. They'd be stupid not to.
Other content like new maps and game modes probably require a lot more design work and QA to get right, and cannot be directly monetized.
Balance is another touchy subject because not everyone can agree on what that actually looks like. You can't make balance changes to the game without pissing someone off.

Eh, not that toasty, considering.
Toasty enough that the cooling effeciency will drop to 34% from 42% and sustained DPS will drop from 4.62 to 4.32 compared to the current (F) laser vomit build. You raise your Alpha from 47 to 54 but you better have a close cooldown spot. I do not see it as being much of an improvement.

Of course mechs is where the money comes from but if the game gets stale then less will buy those mechs. You have to add other content to keep players playing and thus paying. Probably the main reason we are finally getting new weapons and equipment.

I'm not comparing it to the 2+3, I'm comparing it to the TBR using 2+4 with 2x JJ and a TC1. As a 65 ton 'Mech being compared to that, it's pretty much bang-on what it should be.

Certainly. But PGI have been continually working on new content or updating existing content. It's just that a lot of it gets pushed back or back-burnered due to flaws in the design or presentation of the content and insufficient communication between the devs and the players. For instance, that big info warfare overhaul a while back got shuttered because the initial values put on the PTS were just terrible. I think some of the underlying principles were sound, but first impressions were no good. I can only speculate, but I think PGI saw the backlash as a unanimous opposition to the whole concept and ditched it entirely.
I have seen a lot of people lambasting PGI for putting out mech packs and demanding they reduce mech production in favor of other content. That's a real ignorant position to take.
