Also... does anyone else think the non-MW4 art for the Fafnir looks a lot better? Specifically the torso/cockpit.

Also: This thread has been quite derailed. Sorry about that!

I think all the mechs that were in MW4 look better when not done in MW4's art style, especially the Mad Cat Mk. II.... I hate those bow legs.... made it look like it had been riding a Fafnir... Or maybe the Fafnir was riding it...Posted Image

Meh, I think the Timby, Hellbringer, and Summoner looked better without the stupid bendy straw arms that they have in the TRO and most depictions (MWO just replace the cylindrical look with boxes that bend the same way).

The Mad Cat MKII though definitely looked goofy with the posture of its legs, and made it walk funny rather than walk intimidating. I kinda like the Highlander from those days too.

Only the torso/cockpit look better, the legs are too fat and the arms are too nubby in the TRO.

Agreed. I have faith Alex will take the best of both worlds.

I also liked that the Highlander could have a Heavy Gauss, Gauss, and a couple lasers. No MWO Highlanders can do that :(

To be fair, I'm not a fan of the TRO 3050 Clan omnis as it is.... I much perfer MWO's take on them... they actually look like they could support their own weight and move at the speeds they are meant to move at.

The Night Gyr feels SOOOO penalized doesn't it? If only we could unlock everything to optimize it more, then it would be balanced more of the best long range heavy mech in the game than it already is. Posted Image

i run around in a SMN with an lbx20 and an erppc, i could care less what the night gyr does or the top tier IS mechs. id like to be able to add jj's to that SMN, or remove them or add ES and it still wouldnt come close to being OP even i can avg 400+ dmg as is.

Nipple PPC Summoner is also a wonderful mech. I would like to snatch a Clan XL (not an LFE, a legit Clan XL) for my Marauder-3R, but we can't have everything. My point was, there are some Omni-mechs that are legit top tier mechs and really don't need things to be unlocked, the freedom of hardpoint configs is enough. On the other hand, some Omni-mechs are not top tier mechs, so they get quirks but still have stuff locked.

Anyway, it was just a light-hearted jab, not really trying to go down the rabbit hole of whether or not there should be locked equipment.

When I (at my son's request) take out my SMN-PRIME(I), she's not a top scoring mech, but she sure puts the hurt on things...Posted Image

On that note Gas, I'd love to rip a cXL out of a Storm Crows that I hate to pilot, and shoe horn it into my Bushwackers....
