Tanks, infantry, airships you name it. All dedicated for combat-environment enhancement.

I know it's been asked and I know some will argue saying "it cannot be done because of cpu requirements" or other silly stuff...Well, they're poor excuses.
Just check out the rest of the games in the market to what they're capable of nowadays.

Some AI infantry, troop carriers, tanks or even airships could provide great inmersion to what Mechwarrior World should really be, despite their insignificance or minimal damage capabilities could cause a great impact in the gameplay attracting many more new players for what this game deserves.

Making an attractive game improves its life and trying to do its best could help a lot conserving veterans and bringing new players. I'm starting to get bored with the same stuff and I don't play as much as I did years ago.

Probably in a different version of the game. Posted Image

I could see them possibly expanding the drop-ships and turrets more, it isn't too much of a move to go from a stationary target into a patrolling one (a lot of internal work to perfect though, I am sure) so that could be potential for tanks, and the static objects of drop-ships being given hitboxes isn't necessarily out of the question, but I am no expert on the matter.

I don't see infantry ever really making it in, for several reasons, the biggest of those reasons being how much it would affect performance.

Don't forget the Ultimate Limited Collector's Edition with a Stiletto cockpit item. Only $50 extra. And it comes with digital artwork and exclusive access to the Ultimate Limited Collector Forum where you can talk to the other Ultimate Limited Collectors about your Ultimate Limited Collection.

What's that? Attempting to monetise intellectual property in a consumerist world in potentially nefarious ways in the face of piracy and copyright potentials???

I'd settle for unique camo for the Savannah Master, if MW5 can handle its speed. :D

Can I have an NPC named after me and my name displayed in the credits screen when the game ends?

How many people got to see the NPC mechs they accidental slipped into a couple of games last year?

That was really weird, they had generic names and just circled. I was hoping it would be leading to AI controlled mechs for various game modes but nothing ever happened with this. I reported it as people being silly but the names gave away they all had a code.

Also be careful what you ask for, some tanks really dish out a lot of damage, if you think Turrets are bad (they stupidly removed them from Assault), thanks are much worse and mobile.

They may overhaul the engine after the release of MW5. And then a future patch after that may feature another overhaul to Faction Warfare in which they add a ton of AI vehicles and such to make it feel more like a large scale battle. Just a possibility.

The desire for "AI" will instantly evaporate when they drop an alacorn+srm carrier combo with the pinpoint aiming turrets got now, (triple gauss 360 rotation all high hardpoints, if you try to long range, 10xSRM6 if you try to rush, all heatless meaning they can spam as fast as the cd runs, enjoy! Such AI is certainly possible and could be done properly in MWO. It is really a question of priorities.

Frankly, in this sort of game PGI is (hopefully) more likely to focus on more mechs, maps and game modes than building decent AI controlled anything beyond turrets.

AI elements such as tanks, infantry, elementals etc... are likely on a wishlist, so could make appearances down the road pieces at a time. The engine can certainly take it.

i actually wouldn't mind having pets. especially if that pet is a demolisher with a pair of ac 20s. just make em consumables, they drop in a drop pod near your mech when used. you can bring in demolisher, or a pair of helicopters, or a couple hovercraft, or an elemental squad. throw in some basic commands like follow me, engage at will, hold position, etc. as well as map based commands, like patrol or go here. make it possible to delegate your pets to the commanders, which might come in handy in fp. use them to cover objectives, scout, or set up an ambush.

of course it will never happen, we have seen with escort what happens when you let pgi design an ai.

Considering that modern MBTs are 60~70t, the scale in that image is just ridiculous.

HBS Battletech did release some other images with outrageous scale of the depicted 'Mechs.

Not buying MW 5. Development on that game is why new maps for this game stopped entirely.

yeah but 1-2 ton per gun is good enough to waste a lot of mechs with the amount of guns the real treads pack Posted Image . When people ask for AI i always think that they are referring to the vehicles in the single-player games, which have basically only deployed scout class vehicles (vedettes, savannah masters, etc.etc.) or slow aerospace that are still lawndarting, the only somewhat dangerous vehicle stuffed in being the demolisher (which is a budget vehicle usually hilariously used in the open field instead of their preferred urban combat).

Pay 4x the amount, get Gold Infantry!
When they die, they leave a beautiful gold & red patch on the ground!

Given that modern MBTs aren't made of the ultra-light but super strong Endo-steel or Ferro Fiberous/special composite armors, the scaling seems a bit more appropriate. Also consider most of the weight calculated is for internal components and external armor.

Plus, scaling wise an Atlas is around 19 meters tall while a MBT is around 2.5 meters.
