UPDATE (10/13/2015)
All timeslots should be playing music as of tomorrow (Monday, 10/12/2015).
Meanwhile, anyone interesting in being a DJ should shoot me a PM. It does require some work, and I am going to look into broadcasting the audio of twitch streams (not hard, just need to run the free mixxx or some other DJ software alongside the regular streaming stuff).
So far airtime is running fine and is stable. Let me know if you experience any problems.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The idea: create an internet radio station that can broadcast music, news and updates for MWO/Battletech, and keep players updated on the MWO metagame (who controls what). This can even include broadcasting battles, fake ads and the like. This also includes radio shows if enough people are interested in them.
All the music uses the creative commons license, the equipment will run open source/GNU software and HyperPulse Radio will remain non-profit. Everyone can contribute material provided it is original (they own it and are willing to grant unrestricted permission for its use) and it fits the Battletech universe.
It is currently streaming about a dozen albums. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop me a line at hyperpulseradio@gmail.com.
The schedule is currently being revised

Do you have any standard formatting for commercials, jingles, etc for the station? My voice sounds like a cat stretched over hot coals, but I can probably get some friends to read some stuff (whether I write it or yank it out of the old battletech mags).
I figure you guys are still looking filler, yes?
Oh and also, there has to be some peeps in bands in here, those could fall into free to play, I'm surprised someone hasn't offered actually.

By formatting do you mean file types? If so, then mp3, wav, or ogg are fine. I can convert them, and generally do some editing in audacity before uploading.
I'm always look for good BattleTech content. Feel free to send any of your material to hyperpulseradio(at)gmail(dot)com.
Nobody has offered up any music just yet. If someone is interested, there is the 12 Days of BattleTech Christmas that would fit the season

Well, we only have one station, but I can definitely add some reggae to the variety pack. Thanks for the suggestion!

Sorry about that everyone. I was slammed over the holiday season with work and guests. I'm back at it again, though. There are a few changes happening on the radio station:
Everyone welcome Evernigh, a new scheduler that will be helping me out with content.
I'm changing the NGNG podcast marathon so that there will be music during those hours. Stay tuned for scheduling information.
I'm also adding more bands to increase the variety of music. I haven't had any luck with Reggae, but I'll keep looking!
And we're still looking for people to help with scheduling, even if it's only a couple shows a week. All you really need is internet access, the rest is super easy. Send me a PM if you're interested.
EDIT: I updated the main post with new bands and shows.
Thanks for listening, everyone!

We've been watching transformers explode all over the city (and I have to say it looks absolutely awesome ^^). The server will be down until I know that the power is going to be stable.
Currently, everything is incased in ice, including vehicles, plants, and probably people:

No in all honesty that picture is awesome and I remember back to some ice storms and the problems they cause and because of this I wish you to stay safe if you are in that area.

So, I've re-worked the system. The radio now feeds off of winamp, which runs through all the music on random. This means I can just drop songs into the media folder and winamp will automatically load them. It also opens the door for live broadcasting, though I haven't configured that yet. Also, I'm working with jplayer for a web based player that you can stick onto a website. I have it working internally, so I'll probably need some people to help test it in a couple days 8).
The link has changed to CORRECTION!

I also added music from one of our own members: Kaemon and his band "Death by Hula."
