Also, this isn't the Dark Age, so repurposed non-combat mechs shouldn't see active combat duty.

There are some really nice ballistic/missile brawling options available.
2 AC10s and 3ML also looks pretty solid on the -2A.
Laser vomit options on the -3A.
Gauss + lasers/PPCs on the Hero.
I'm looking forward to it, also partly because its been over a year since a new IS heavy dropped.

Except it is canon, for the same reason the Mauler is canon.
Tons of mechs were built on a platform that originated as industrial mechs, especially on Solaris.
It has a better lore backstory than most the mechs in the 3058 TRO.

'cept she was cannon by Randal Bills himself, the guy whom is the head of Catalyst Game Labs Battletech... Hell he's been part of Battletech since the 80's.... So the argument that it's not canon is out.

Would you be more likely to try it out after it appears in a BattleTech Experimental Technical Readout pdf?

I'll have to see what the stats are before I decide to run them. Torso twist range most of all. I seriously doubt it is going to get any quirks, considering we were supposed to be on the new skill tree per their original plan. If the stats turn out to be lousy, I'll probably just run them all one time during the leaderboard event to get an idea how good sales were. Then shelve them until the new tech arrives.

Yes you can hand over money and things get instantly canonised. For mechs like the Dragon Slayer, it sat for years in limbo, the lobbiests being ignored, it's only just been updated in sarna.
