There was a time around here where players, regardless of their distinction or affiliation, wore kevlar vests... Stood fast on their convictions and leaning into adversity with dogged determination.

Now... It's like every special snowflake has migrated from college campuses across the world to MWO.

It's like neither the player base nor the developers can sneeze in any general direction without personally offending some segment of the community.

It's like over night over half this player base lost their cajones... They can't play without feeling disenfranchised, they can't forum war without feeling personally attacked.

One thing for certain... They are masters of spinning hyperbole, utilisation of strawmen arguments and feigning indignation.

So true. I think the "experienced" age of the playerbase plays a huge factor...

On a more positive note, I almost rather prefer the perpetually grumpy, overly sensitive MWO layman over a population of raging, obnoxious, over the top 'mountain-dew-and-doritos' squeakers.

Well, I'm rather f*cking offended that you think MWO is played by people in just one country sir! As it happens, the game is played in several countries and I would like you to acknowledge this and apologise to every other country individually with a heartfelt letter of apology (no copy and pasting allowed).

If not, us whiners will haunt you for the rest of your days and utilise the most obnoxious warhorn we can, which will sound, greeting your Mech's destruction, every time we kill you. Good day to you sir, you xenomorphic b***h!

Be honest this is just a personal rant that cannot be supported without a substantial body of evidence regarding the content of forum posts and the player base demographics going back to 2012.

If you had chosen a more narrowed topic it could at least be argued between point and counterpoint. How do I refute your statements?

What is the topic exactly? Universities are filled only with the social awkward? Those born after 199x lack conviction? That is not a MWO problem.

Sounds like a sociology topic in a MechWarrior forum.
