Problem with the Legacy is that pinpoint fire'll kill it unless the massive guns get a huge size decrease. Really sucks. But the variants, weapon wise, are great, if a little below average.

I'd rather have the Viking. Sure, another IS LRM boat is groan-worthy, but the 2G and 3W (If they ever add LACs and MMLs. I'm into the 3W for the theoretical HPs.) sound cool.

It's the only mech to use Clan MASC Mk.1, so the values of Clan MASC Mk.1 can be tuned to fit the Fire Moth. It goes 174.2 with Speed Tweak, which is only 3 kph higher than the Commando used to be (and we've had a lot of netcode improvements since the time of the 171 kph Commando, so who knows if the servers can handle even up to 180 kph... PGI has kept their lips shut). The speed bonus could even be completely removed from Clan MASC Mk.1 and leave the acceleration bonuses, and it would be fine for the Fire Moth.

Doesn't the Solitaire also use MASC Mk I ?
I'm just going off the rule listed on Sarna;

Quote

For Inner Sphere 'Mechs, MASC takes up a number of critical spots equal to a 'Mech's tonnage divided by 20, rounded up, and an equal tonnage. For Clan 'Mechs, MASC takes up a number of critical spots equal to a 'Mech's tonnage divided by 25, rounded up, and an equal tonnage

At 25 tons, that means it uses MASC Mk I, right? It even says it replaces a HML with it, and they're 1 ton.

Aside from the fact that the Solitaire is very unlikely for MWO (it only has two variants, and they're pretty much identical), the Solitaire also goes 174 kph without MASC, so it has the same exact problem as the Fire Moth, and is therefore compatible.

Thug and Hatamoto-Chi!

I know...old tech. Who cares? I'd also shell out for the Hollander II. It would need serious quirkage but it's the only mech that'll get me into gauss rifles :)

Honestly, the clans are going to run out of mechs pretty soon, since PGI has already been drawing from as far down the TROs as TRO 3058.

So long as the mechs they add are chosen to fill roles besides the role of power-creeping, than I'm fine.
Hopefully, it doesn't mean all the remaining 3050 designs are going to be written off. I'd still like to see the Charger, Crusader, Whitworth, Hermes II, Clint, and a number of others make the cut.

I hope they actually do the Jihad period, too. The early period Jihad, especially, was a perfect breeding ground for inter-faction conflict and seeing the clans go off to have their War of Reaving would be pretty cool, too.

The Behemoth

(Stone Rhino)

100-tons of giagantic clan killing machine. I don't think it would bring anything new from a tactical perspective, but it just looks cool imo. And it would replace the whale as the big slow target (turret) on the map!

Actually the Stone Rhino would compete with the KDK for best assault thanks to it's 2B,2E STs.

What year is the Stone Rhino? Id like to see it, but I dont do anything with this game. Maybe MW5 Mercs can have it...unless they are also not doing the Clan era, which would be fine as well.

Stone Rhino is actually a clan Battlemech 2847 production era based off of a failed superheavy IS mech from the Star League era. The top barrel is actually where it's two side torso mounted GR's are fired out of, the arms are 2xLPL, and in the chin of the mech is a SPL.

Likely would end up looking more like this though

If they ever add the Stone Rhino-and I hope they don't-I hope they put the STs close enough together up top for the Twin Gauss to be right next to eachother, in the same gun mount. It'd be pretty cool.

Of course, the more balanced, not double-gauss hill peek option to put the guns right next to the cockpit.
