If you recall sometime ago i had made a Scorpion's model, which was like the very first 3d model i've had ever made, so it had a lot of rough edges and even though it was finished, i was not wholly satisfied with how it turned out. (For some reason, i can't find the original thread for it, ever since PGI messed with the forums and moved the Fan Art page here).
So, over the last few weekends i decided to mess around with it. At first i was only planning on touching a few things up, but in the end, i ended up scrapping most of it (like the entirety of the legs, most of the torso, etc) and re-doing it.
I even planned on rigging it properly and maybe trying to animate it in Blender (but i couldn't figure how to bloody do anything in Blender, no matter how many online tutorials i watched)
So instead i opted to try at least some posing in Sketchup where i made the model itself, which turned out pretty OK, in my opinion.
Now, before you say anything, yes.
I do realize it's the Scorpion. AGAIN.
I might try some other mech, sometime later. Maybe.

Scorpion and a Fire Scorpion in one thread? Mmm. Yaaaas.
We are distinctly missing the Stalking Spider, though.

Decided to spend some time painting over the model's picture in GIMP. Give it a paintjob, add some extra details and whatnot.
Think it came out pretty well.

It's odd, you'd expect a quad like that to have a different leg structure. Ball and socket style joints where the legs join the torso, and a more splayed out X pattern around the torso as opposed to the ][ it has going on.
