except its not designed solely for large groups. so yes
a gamemode should either be for large groups only or it should be for solo players and small groups only
trying to shove both into the same gamemode doesnt work. because the large groups just prey on the solo players/small groups and its not challenging for them. And its not fun for the solo players/small groups to lose to large groups. its lose lose.
thats why quickplay has both a solo queue and a group queue. and its why faction play fails because mixing the two doesnt work. unfortunately since faction play cant have two different queues, it makes more sense for faction play to cater to solo players/small groups since a new 8v8 ranked ladder gamemode is being added for larger groups.
Now that 8v8 ranked ladder is being added, large groups will have their own gamemode, so faction play can be catered more towards solo players and small groups.
Remember large groups are in the minority. Most people play solo or with 1-2 friends. So it makes the most sense to cater faction play to the widest number of players. That way faction play has a higher player population and a better chance of succeeding instead of failing like it does now because large groups prey on solo players and smaller groups.
