So I've been playing MWO for quite some time now with little to no problems. However, I was away for the weekend, and when I got back, I ran into a pretty big issue.

Any time I drop into a match, I can't move my mech's legs. Using any of the WASD keys won't do anything, but holding A or D will make the mech spin non stop. None of the other letter keys will work either, like, I can't open chat or anything.

Now, the weirdest part of this is that the rest of the keys will work. I can still hit space for my jump jets and open the ESC menu, and the numpad will still set the throttle. The mouse also still works, as I can still look around and fire my weapons.

I've tried changing the keybindings, but the letter keys still won't register. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but that didn't work either. In any other game I've tried, the keyboard works fine, so it seems like it's a specifically MWO problem. Any help would be appreciated.

(Also I use the steam version of the game if that's relevant. I haven't tried the standalone client yet to see if that works.)

Similar problem here:
Can't use the x-button (zoom) while pressing w (forward) anymore.
A few days ago everything worked fine.
Not sure, if this is rather a hardware related problem.
Didn't have it in the past though.

Did you manage to fix your issues?

most keyboards have a theoretical limit on how many keys can be pressed at once ... generally, they are divided by vertical lines along the length of the keyboard, and a lot of it depends on how good the crack was that the manufacturer was on that day and how cheap they felt like being because of it

generally "X" and "W" will be on the same 'detection' line, and most keyboards should be able to detect both at once, but that's probably the limit for most crappy keyboard logics ... now, its not likely, but its completely possible that a key can be jammed on, without ever being realised (I've had this) and usually its a function key that you don't use, like F2, the ALT below .... there is no particular way within MWO to tell your pc to 'ignore' the key ... you could adjust how quickly it 'repeats' but I don't think that will help you at all ... on my current keyboard, if I hold down more than 2 keys on a vertical detection line, it stops registering any of them ...

Having similar issues as well. A week ago all keys were working with fire group selection. Then things slowly took a turn for the worse. Group 3 (3 key) wouldn't fire weapons group 3. Then after long delay for other reasons I had to do a new install of Windows 10. Now only weapons group 1 - left mouse button (1 Key) work. 2nd mouse button will not work to engage weapons grp 2 or (2 Key will not work as well. I've uninstalled drivers removed replace multiple time yet no change at all. A bit frustrating as there seems to be no answer. I've changed compatibility mode to windows 7, still no change. Please help if possible.

some people had issues with varying software on their pc's ... weird anti virus stuff might interpret the keystroke grabbing as a keylogger .... few other weird software bits might interfere ... like new and untested RGB lighting crap ....
