The Yeoman has only one advantage in BattleTech: It lets you save some BV (and use it on something else) because it is BV-cheap.

But there is no BV in MechWarrior Online, so there is no reason why not to deploy in your best 'Mech. Deploying in a weak or junk 'Mech just means that you are hurting your team.
